  1. Trade him for a haul if he really wants to stay in montreal he will come back as a free agent. It's a win-win… we could get another 1st and possibly sign him. If he leaves who cares you got two 1st for him.

  2. Absolutely no way should the Habs trade Monahan. Top tier two way player, experienced guy for our young players. I would only accept a 1st rounder and high end prospect because that’s exactly what he’s worth!

  3. Monahan is most valuable on face-offs, especially when a penalty is called to Montreal and the face-off is in their end. Sean wins the faceoff and Montreal shoots the puck down to the opponent's end. That chews 30 seconds off the other team's power play. That alone is worth the salary they are paying him.

  4. I wish he never got injured so much during his time with the flames, watching him and Gaudreau was pretty amazing. It's nice to see him do well in Montreal, just hope he stays healthy.

  5. Question – Obviously Monahan likes playing in MTL, so whats stopping us from trading him at the trade deadline, then resigning him in the off season if he so wishes? Is there a contract technicality that would prevent us? If we are not contending this year, which is realistically going to happen, this would be a huge win for the habs. Trade Monahan, get assets, drop in the standings for a better pick, then sign him again if he wants to, haha.

  6. Dach's injury at the beginning of the season no less, was such a downer for fans. Then along came Monahan, who has been such a bright light for the Habs. He's been one of the most consistent players. Thanks so much for your continued content on the Habs!
