Be real. It was a 50/50 puck and one guy got unlucky. It’s because it’s marchy that everyone’s losing their minds over this, had it been anyone else everyone would be silent
I’m a huge leafs fan it’s honestly just fucking tiring that year after year it’s the same exact shit. I don’t understand how this team can just be the exact same every single year. It’s also extra shitty because the only two times Reaves has gotten into a fight this season were times when the other team FORCED him to fight because of a hit he laid. Why can’t he do the same when the other team does that to one of our players?
And no, I don’t blame this on Sheldon keefe, because this team has acted like this since long before Keefe was here. He was the only person from the team that showed how fucking pissed off he was during that game. If the players can’t take the fucking hint after that, then there is no hope
Come on Marchand and liljegren we’re jockeying for position, Marchand was stronger. He seems to get the better of a lot of players
I don't think it's Keefe's fault when they got guys like Bertuzzi, Reaves, and Domi. Domi did a good job at standing up for Kane in Chicago and when Dumba laid that nasty hit on Pavelski in the playoffs. I'm not surprised by no response from Reaves. He also didn't stand up for Kaprizov when he got injured from Logan Stanley's cheap shot last year.
Gotta be tough to win rings in the nhl. Took the Leafs 40 plus years to get past the first round. Tells you all you need about those fake northerners
This is the exact reason the leafs will be out of the playoffs early they have a reputation league wide as a team with a ton of talent but no guts and as you know the playoffs are really rough I see the same thin in the Atlanta braves in baseball loaded with talen and they don't know how to win in the playoffs, they did win in 2021 but they had a couple of badasses on that team that left after the ws championship they got put out in the first round since I knothe leaf fans remember Dave tiger Williams what would he do to brad after he tried to crippled that man and did a good job of it probably a knee injury, the gm better pick up some tougher players the least would be in the finals if they had a Bob Probert or domi or hell a real leader

What did people expect Marchand has been doing crap like this for years league does nothing about it how are players supposed to do anything about it when the league take action on the reaction not the action. I'm just gonna get called a crybaby leafs fan lol. Reality is hockey has become a referee controlled ballet on ice for all the ratings.

Marchand did nothing other than fight for the puck. Two NHL refs and a former player said nothing happened. He lost an edge.

Look how TB responded to the hit on Brayden Point during the playoffs last season….Kucherov and Stamkos both dropped the gloves with Leaf players…a great display of leadership by the superstar players. The Leafs "core four" are the "bore four"….those guys would hold their own teammate while an opponent pounded on them. They have little emotion and no backbone.
I'll be the 1st to admit that I thought Bertuzzi and Domi would add some toughness and grit to the Leafs….man 'o man was I WRONG!!!!! And….Reeves can't be expected to pound out every middleweight wannabe in the league. The rank & file of the team has to step up for their teammates!!!!!
If you aren't going to fight him, make it uncomfortable for him on the ice the rest of the game. Throw some slashes at him, get mixed up with him in some scrums when the goalies freeze pucks anything. Chirping can only do so much if you aren't going yo back it up without any sort of response. I put it more on the players then Keefe, I would love to see Matthews, Marner, Nylander or Tavares at least get more involved when it comes to these types of situations maybe if the top players on the team show some fight and grit it would show more of the identity of what this team is and then the bottom role players would back them up and feed off from what they are doing. All the leafs do to any kind of physical confrontation is hope for a powerplay and then score to get even but let the team get away with any cheap dirty hit or play
