We’ve NEVER Seen This Before

Something happened before the Anaheim Duck vs Columbus Blue Jackets game that we have never seen before. No, I’m not talking about the power outage that almost ruined the NHL’s 1st ever frozen frenzy. #2 overall pick Leo Carlsson was healthy scratched for the 2nd consecutive time. It seems “Load Management” has FINALLY made its way to the NHL. I talk about what this could mean for the future of load management in the NHL in the future, as well as recap the Ducks vs Blue Jackets game.

  1. So apparently, Pat Verbeek had the same approach with Steven Stamkos when he was in Tampa and we can kind of see the results from Stamkos now. If sitting Leo Carlsson and limiting the amount of games he plays now means he can have a bigger impact later on in this season and reaches his projected upside as a franchise cornerstone, sign me up!

  2. Its new for sure, but you made a valid point there about Leo is still adjusting, playing in Sweden etc, I think this is one of those "part of the plan" for beek, I do think Anaheim is managing expectations this year appropriately, we arent competing for the Stanley Cup, but we are still in my eyes validating the stocks so to speak, who has what it takes to be in the NHL night in night out, And i do think the Ducks are aware that Gibson's days are behind him, so this is why we are seeing more of Dostal. Lets hope we keep trending upwards against the Bs.

  3. I think the Ducks have a plan in place. So far i love what im seeing from the young group. Trust the process.

  4. When I noticed Z hadn't had a shift 5 minutes in the third all I could think of is the LetterKenny scene with coach 'teaching' the ladies how to coach hockey… "How do you handle star players? You bench 'em!"

  5. I am just happy that they win but I won’t be surprised if they lose to Boston because they are a good team right now

  6. Pat do so many stupid thing I didn’t like as player I don’t like him as gm why would he do that to his player it would better to Leo to played in his country instead of playing in the nhl

  7. I really enjoy your channel! Short and to the point with nothing but what matters: hockey. 🤘 Keep up the great work

  8. I am wondering if this works with Carlsson. I like the idea and if they think its better for the future, do it.

  9. Didn’t matthews play over seas before playing in the nhl? Seems like he is doing good! He should already be adjusted. I can see adjusting to the rink but that should have happened in the preseason and training camp. Just how I see it.

  10. Its not load management, its a rookie who isnt strong enough or fast enough. Because the players not hurt and the team has no chNce of making playoffs. It is not load management at all. What other play is taking load management. The san antonio spurs used to rest their old players, is that load management?? Or is that a team thinking about how they will have a better chance to win. Not playing can come back and bite leo in the butt 1st and 3rd are playing all their games. We’ll have to see if it is better or worse.

  11. Leo game managements seems very good intended.. i have no problems with it. I think the Rangers for example, wish they did this with Kakko and Lafreniere..

  12. i also think in regards to those 87 games he played last year he didn't really get that much time off before starting his ducks rookie camp , seemed like it was only 1.5 month break for him … i'm cool with him taking games off this year because as we all know ducks ain't making the playoffs this year so if that's the case than i would want them to again get the highest draft pick as possible … even with carlsson limited play i think ducks will finish 6th or 7th from the bottom but maybe we get lucky in the lottery and move up to 4th – 5th ,, if we finish in the 10 – 11 range they ain't moving up at all which would really suck

  13. Watching the game right now and Ducks can’t stay out of the box lol Bruins are dirty and suckering the Ducks into penalties
