  1. Again, this doesnt reflect how i saw the game. I know this is the honeymoon phase still for a new coach but this was a game and one of the better teams deapite their record because they still have talent and a good coach.

Schneids have a few rough moments like whiffing a pass back to miller but i am still liking what i am seeing. We are playing more than 20 mins a game like we have been the past few years and we are mixing that with no quit

Also Aho is a bitch, he probably would have kicked lafs ass but how do other teams get to walk away? Trouba hits a person cleanly and the other team has their gloves off immediately, so trouba has no choice but to protect himself. Other teams tho can get away probably because we dont drop gloves immediately. Either way the shadow realm is baking cookies to present to their newest resident in Jan.

Side note, i like the kids showing some edge and playing a bit more physical. Feels like they were too scared to play that role under the other coaches for fear of losing time maybe?

Last note, goodrow is trash on defense and shouldnt be getting shorthanded time

  2. Offense wasn’t there for either team. I’m very happy of the way they played defensively, and ESPECIALLY the way they played in the final 5 and prevented Carolina from pulling their goalie. We don’t win this game last year

This is how this team has to play in order to be successful (been saying that all of last year too). If this team can embrace the idea of being responsible defensively, they have enough scoring talent (at least in the top 6, would be nice to be deeper) to score enough goals to win games. Add Shesty in net and they should be able to compete with anyone.

Trouble starts for them (like in the Devil series last year) where they try to skate with teams they can’t keep up with. Really haven’t seen much of that this year under Laviolette. I’ll be the first to admit I wasn’t thrilled with the hire, but he’s shut me up so far this year. The players seem to embrace his style and it seems like they almost want to be coached (something that I guess was not happening under Gallant).
