No forecheck,can’t clear a puck,leading to way too much zone time for the Canes. It’s a shame,there’s been some awesome Goals scored by Dobson,Holstrom and Barzy and all for naught. The Refs swallowed the whistle on multiple slashes.
We dont have a real head coach and our 7m captain has 2 points in 10 games and is absolutely useless on this team. He shouldve been bought out or dealt at 50% retention
I'm starting a Lane Lambert watch! No words for last night except EXTREMELY disappointed and I completely agree with the previous two comments. The game was a waste of so much good stuff!
Pathetic effort once again to blow 3-0 lead. Two blown leads turned into two ot losses last week = two precious points down the drain. And showing once again why lane is a mediocre coach. Its a predictable script. One line-13/14 this game-do the scoring as no other lines score. And giving up over 40 shots again-outshot badly against a fast canes team. Isles can shut down the weak scoring teams like az, cbj, or teams that are old garbage like caps. Against the better faster more skilled teams like canes, nj, av's they get sloppy and make mistakes-lazy shit like failing to clear pucks out-like they suddenly think they are a high scoring team. There is a trend to isles-one good typical isles shut out then a lousy blown lead game to follow. Isles can't put it together consistently. That is on lane. And i get shit for harping on him over and over again but you know who's failure to address that big need is killing isles because if they want to blow leads to get to ot they are gonna lose in ot/so just about every time. Isles don't have the skill guys to win ot/so skills competition which once again goes back to failure to bring in a couple skill guys that can score in a skills contest. That could boost pp as well as win some of these ot/so games isles are gonna lose more times than not. That plus blown leads will cost isles a dozen or more pts. this season.
These vets are getting tired! Terrible player scheduling and terrible HCing! LL and LL should be on the hot seat already! The HC should have a MUCH BETTER idea of favorable line combinations by now!

Lambert thinks the D has to become more offensive because our front line guys are not producing. Lee, Barzal, Wahlstrom, Pageau, Fasching, and Engvall have combined for a grand total of 3 goals in 10 games. You would think that this lack of offense is due to stressing tight back checking by our forwards. But no. Not only are we not scoring, but our "lock down defense" has deteriorated significantly since LL took the reins. Hickey, in his pre game comments last night, thinks the Isles have the talent to implement this system, but for whatever reason, they are not. If this type of play continues, these goalies will be completely worn down by January and we will most certainly be out of the playoffs. A better coach would get more from this roster. If Lou sticks with Lane past December, this team will be out of the hunt by late February or early March.
This is why islanders will never win anything get the lead and just stop playing, get the lead and just try to preserve it
