What’s Next For The San Jose Sharks After Another Blowout?

The San Jose Sharks responded to a 10-1 game by giving up ten goals to the Pittsburgh Penguins. Something has to change now. Start by examining if David Quinn will make it to Thanksgiving, let alone the end of the year, and why Mike Grier might have to make a tough decision sooner rather than later. Then, analyze the numbers from the Penguins game and why it might be time for William Eklund to play with Tomas Hertl and Anthony Duclair. Finally, with the Penguins off to a slow start on the season, should Sharks fans be rooting for a pick this year or an unprotected first in the 2025 NHL Draft?

  1. Eklund was a definite standout. I am impressed with his puck handling skill, passing and the way he can win puck battles against bigger players in the corners. Zadina was flying around the rink. Yes, I would like to see Eklund up on the Top line with Hertl and Zadina. It doesn't hurt to try anything.

  2. I know no one played well but to me Hoffman has not been good at all he should not be on the first line. Also what happened to boards? He get sent back to the cudda?

  3. The Penguins had this slick pick of the defenseman play on a goal in front of the net. The Sharks could learn from that. Sometimes you just have to watch the game and appreciate how the game is played.

  4. what u need to stop the bleeding is to get some solid grinders and strong PK bottom 6 NHL level players. combine the 2 top lines with the young stars that needs a ton of icetime to evolve with the best vets that wants to stay…. This way u get those grinders that boxes out, covers and FIGHTS for their spot as well as position themselves good on Defense. SJ looks soft and full of holes and u gotta fill those holes and build up starting from that defensive end. its gonna take at least 5 years before ur gonna get a team that can compete…so dont set goals higher then that. expect losses…but plug those holes..dont go bleeding after every game.

  5. Fire Quinn on principal. He’s proven himself to be terrible with this team. Grier needs to show there’s a standard in San Jose and everyone is accountable. Let Warsofsky finish the season as interim coach and find a better option in the offseason.

  6. Tanking is one thing, risking not to cover a good number of paid seats when playing home is another. A franchise lives thanks to those tickets, and the more the Sharks continue to lose, the fewer the number of tickets sold. As a Ducks fan, I really hope the Sharks get back on track and somehow manage to win at least some games here and there! :))
