“The big defensive style change”…. What is it? They’re allowing the same types of goals they did last year. By the end of December 2022, they had a record of 20 wins 17 losses and 2 loser points. Not exactly world beaters. The big difference so far this season, is the lack of scoring from the top guys. I don’t think you go from a “cup or bust” attitude, to not giving a crap within 10 games. They will come around.
Fire the coach? Doesn't work. Fire the GM? doesn't work. FIRE THE GOALIE COACH! FIRE THE EXECUTIVE. Trade nurse for the best goalie. Trade Bouchard for Tyson Barrie. Get McDavid off the ice and let him heal. Should never be playing this guy injured, fire whoever allowed that. Get Kos and Buckstad back. Get Kass or Maroon back and get some spirit and some fire on this team.
We should give Drai and McDavid at least a week off, you can tell they are both hurting with something. Can't be any worse without them and it would be a chance to give some more ice time to other players.
When I think of the 2:00 mark I think of a discussion of a claim by Ryan Rishaug, in an interview with Laura Diakun on TSN's SportsCentre (video titled "Is Jay Woodcroft’s job in jeopardy amidst Oilers disappointing start to the season"), of quite possible Jay Woodcroft having poor job security as head coach. Woodcroft's Leafs' counterpart Sheldon Keefe may be out the door relatively soon too even with the Leafs arguably to remain in a playoff spot at least until games that started on Monday Mountain Time that involve Eastern Conference teams have all wrapped up.
I see the Oilers unlikely to see playoff action this season given just how far down they are. They are after all playing not much better than a 2021-22 Habs' squad that ended with 55 points and in dead last in the NHL. That Habs' squad started the regular season with just 4 points over 10 games while the Oilers are just 1 point ahead of those Habs.
We know one thing for sure….IF.. the Locker Room wants Woodcraft gone he is now on the edge of the precipice…2-3 more stinkers and everyone gets a fresh slate with what will be an experienced NHL Playoff Coach like Coach-Q. A good Coach could still squeeze a few Stanleys out of the Oilers Roster. This we do know. What most people dont realize is that Quenneville used a System in Chicago called an Adjusted-Hybrid to win his Cups which is generally what the Oilers have been trying to do for over a Decade…he would walk in not miss a beat and be an instant Playoff UPGRADE . Guaranteed.
Dolynny, do you realize that the Oilers went 7-3 out of the gate last year, and 3-7 for the next 10 games? The result is still the same, 10-10. Ya’ll need to quit panicking and quit talking about firing a coach who has one of the best winning percentages in hockey since he started! Sheesh….
Oiler D was lousy when McD got here and it’s still lousy. Goaltending is nowhere near what Smitty and Koski gave us down the stretch and into the playoffs, until Smitty went No Country for Old Men on us. Do what u have to do to fix it.
Ok let me get this straight…. We should fire ANOTHER COACH …must be his fault RT? He’s the one out there playing defence and letting the other guys walk around him…. He must be the reason that each individual on the offensive side is struggling to put up the points… goalies.. well it must be THEIR FAULT too… How many times do we have to CHANGE the coaching staff before people realize.. it’s THE PLAYERS that need to STAND UP and take OWNERSHIP of the TEAMS play…you put the greatest coach and greatest goalie in the game… if the TEAM PLAYERS dynamics are off… then THE PLAYERS need to fix it!!!!! Until this happens… they will struggle… “ fire the coach/ get a goalie’…blah blah blah…. PLAYERS NEED TO FIX IT… THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO CAN!! IMO
Fire the guy that gave Nurse the 9Mil. We could have got some better forwards with the extra money. I do believe everybody needed to relax. We still have time. the sky is not falling
Why are you giving Mcdavid and Draisaitl a pass? Has their defence been shit? Yes. But much of the individual mistakes have been on Connor and Leon. Their line on the Preds game was brutal. I think oilers win the next one against the canucks and right the ship. Let's go!

fire schwartz, he truly deserves it. Koskinen may have been serviceable if we had a better goalie coach.
