I kind of don’t mind seeing shenanigans like this. Nobody is going to pick them up off waivers when they go back down, it gives us a little extra cash at the deadline. If/when we make a move at the deadline for someone we’ll have a little more and we don’t have to do everything last second and play with 11f 6d or something equally foolish just to make the cap space work.
These type of transactions are exactly what Drury should have been doing all of last year on off days to try and accrue cap space. It was mind boggling that he didn’t do any of this to allow for more flexibility at the deadline. Great to see that he’s working the system this year.
