Jake Allen's stock is probably high right now and would be the more tradeable for picks. I would keep Primeau as he and Montembeault would be more ideal during a rebuild. Until Fowler is ready to take over.
I've been hyped about Hutson and his offensive ability for a while now but only recently found out he plays defense and isn't a forward 😂 can't wait to see him don the Canadiens jersey!
The Oilers could try to emulate the Knights on their run with 5-6 NHL goalies (due to injury and legal issues), make small ish trades to acquire different goaltenders and try em out, until something sticks or one of the old ones wake up.
In Montreal’s case, Monty or Primeau could work.
Unless they also trade one of their goaltender they have no cap space to take on Allen.
Now that i think of it, Montreal could be willing to trade Allen for Campbell and multiple sweetener.
TRADE JAKE!!! At the deadline and retain 50%. This will be his last great year in Montreal and it will be just like Andersoj. We can get a Foegele and a 3rd for Allen if he continues this.
You guys need to chill saying Lane Hutson could be better than Adam Fox… TRUST ME I’m a massive fan of lane Hutson but he won’t be as good as Fox, Hughes or Makar when it comes to defence. If your talking about offensively then sure he could be a 65-80 point OFD but he’s not a TWD and Hughes, Fox and Makar are TWD and are more complete on both sides of the ice, Hutson is very good offensively but not that great defensively… So in my opinion he won’t be as complete as Hughes, Fox and Makar is above everyone we won’t see a Defender like Makar for a while in my opinion… We need to chill when we say Hutson could be better than Hughes or Fox.
Unrelated, but Justin Barron has a 42.9 shot% this year, doubt he could keep that pace, but imagine 😂
Im done with people saying Hutson will never be Quinn Hughes. He has a chance to be as good as makar. Probably the same odds Fox had the career he has today

I just to understand all the talk about trading Allen or Monty. I blame Hughes and Gorton for not moving Primeau which is generating all this talk…. Allen is having a career start and Monty is doing well, he’s only 26, a local kid that represent the Habs well on and off the ice. Who wants to have another overpaid goalie anyways…… so let’s concentrate on getting scoring wingers, let the D develop and we wont need a superstar goalie.
