    Burke actually did Wilson two favours, one was giving him the contract extension mid-season, and the other was firing him just over two months later to relieve him from his coaching misery in Toronto.

    Love these videos. I wasn’t aware of the Ron Wilson situation in Toronto. He became a tired act in San Jose and the players stopped playing for him. Seems like a bit of a flip flop though on Toronto’s side to extend his contract then fire him shortly after. Why was his contract extended in the first place? 🤣

    Wilson was so understanding and accepting of his firing because he already secured his contract extension. It's easier to walk away quietly and quickly when you're secure financially for the foreseeable future.
