Unless you really have one of those Top 5-7 guys I’d be skeptical about committing to any goalie for more than a year or two.

He was never going to be successful there. His high danger save percentage was very poor even with the leafs and edmonton was one of the worst teams in high danger chances against. How could they do this to our boy

What’s with all the “poor Jack” shit. The guy got paid millions of dollars and played the highest level hockey on the planet. That sounds like a success to me. There are people on this earth far more deserving of the sympathy than professional athletes.

All they get is $1.15M cap relief. Oof. That’s still a lot of salary tied up. I’m guessing they just want to give him a chance to reset himself in the AHL and give one of their young guys a shot. I don’t think they can afford to trade for another established goalie right? So I’d expect him to be called back up with the Oilers eventually.
