Send down Skinner and bring up Rodrigue. And fire Swartz now. I mean, how many goalies has Swartz ruined, Dubnyk, Broisoit, Talbot, etc, etc. Fire him now before he ruins any more goalies.
What’s important is what’s next. After Thurs the Oilers have 20 games to finish out this calendar year & 16 are against 22-23 playoff teams. Thursday completes the ez part of the schedule. So this is not going to be turned around by Jan 1. Even if by some miracle they go 12-8 against the best teams in the NHL… they’ll still be below .500 on Jan 1. Point being they’re not going 12-8 in their final games of 2023 & the Oilers will be well below .500 on Jan 1. What’s next after that?? That’s what needs to be discussed.
Maybe it’s best to think of Thurs game vs San Jose Sharks as the Oilers Stanley Cup Finals.
I feel like this move is not going to do anything. The Oiler's defense is the problem. They lack the effort and the heart and they have zero awareness of what is going on around them.
Master plan to win the cup right here. 1st fire goalie coach 2nd trade jack campbell, 2024 1st round pick, Raphael lavoie for jake Allen, 3rd warren foegle, Holloway 2025 first rounder for Brett pessce, 4th 2nd round pick and Desharjden to Calgary for zadorov 5th sign patty Kane with available cap and hoist the cup on all the doubters and resign Leon Draisaitl

All these contracts NEED to have incentive clauses in them. Any contract 5 million and above should have something tied to it. What a brutal continuation to this season with that loss in Vancouver with the shot advantage we had. I’m not even watching games anymore, just waiting to watch a 10 mins highlight package. Who wants to watch this mess?
I believe that Schwatrz should be the next one on the block. I do not know him but I do know his dad and brother. All cut from the same cloth. Pretty arrogant. Hope you feel better soon Patrick. It has been dragging on a while now for you.
