The Edmonton Oilers shook things up huge today, shipping Jack Campbell to the waiver wire, but the team at current is in shambles, and we’ve gotta ask what’s next?

Can anyone explain nurse contract. Why is he getting paid more than cale makar.
The amount of toxicity we have seen from Coilers fans over deacades this will be Karma. Guess what canucks have never in their history won a single draft pick and the NHL was always against us and the media is against us . We are all alone and we still play better then all other canadian teams without a single number 1 pick in history. Wish you all the worst
Waiving Campbell is literally the best option they have when they have to do *something*. Helpful? No. But if they don’t want to fire anyone (yet), cannot clear any space quickly, then it’s gotta be Campbell. He’s got paid more than Skinner, performance is comparable to Skinner, and he’s not a local kid who loves to play for Edmonton like Skinner.
What the team CAN do though, is to just play more disciplined. I’ve seen too many times this season when McDavid and Draisaitl just got so frustrated they end up sitting in the box for like ten minutes. When the only reason why Edmonton got five points is because of their offense and it’s just not gonna help anyone if those two plus Hyman are having a party in the box.
send skinner packing too….
Trade Drasitl at trade deadline. McDavid at draft. Build a complete roster.
What's next? They will call up some goalie talent or get some veteran in, and the same thing will happen again. Why everyone else wearing a jersey is getting a pass is downright disgraceful, but yea let's kick the can down the road and not have the balls to take a hard look at the inflated contracts other players are carrying into this season and producing f*** all. Pretty hilarious, but it was all hubris from the get go thinking a few players could put the team on their back, but even funnier that when they aren't able to the fans and organization still blame the goalie. lol.
If the Flyers lose, it does take some of the embarrassment away from a potential loss, but it also means that San Jose might be done tanking. So a bit of a good news / bad news scenario.
Philly saved you guys from being the first loss to San Jose tonight.
Go Canucks !!! 😊
Sharks just beat the Flyers. Im not that sure that we actually beat them either ☹️
You're forgetting about Binnington. Reid Wilkins reported that there have been quiet rumblings about the Oilers going for him. Reid Wilkins trusts his source and he says they are reliable
Trading Campbell to any of those teams is wishful thinking. Who would want him and his 5m contract for four years? And if the oilers eat half of his salary, they are so capped out. Ain’t happening unless a whole pile of other expensive s get sent away as well.
well they didn t trade Mc Saviour or Mc Drysaitl……….yet!
you are wrong about the Sharks looking for their first win
putting Campbell on waivers does not accomplish anything except make the front office is doing SOMETHING.
Philly ruined everything. The Superbowl of hockey is now meaningless
If Holland really wanted to send a message, for every game lost in November one player is sent down to Bakersfield starting with bottom and working "operation waiver" up through the roster. Bringing up 1 guy after another can't be any worse than the product that's on the ice now. Obviously the risk of losing decent players that are not producing now to claims is huge, but Holland may have so much cap space by the end of November… it's like Christmas with new money, the Oilers would look like a completely different team in December. Holland can reshape his team any he wants to with the amount of good players available for $1m to $3M. Radical idea? Yes. Will it ever happen? No. Waiving 1 goalie and firing a coach is not shaking things up and or sending enough of a message. The fault rests within the players not the Coach. Is Campbell the first domino to fall in "operation waiver" yes. Will he be the only domino to fall? Probably yes. Holland's ego will never admit to the sports world that he got it wrong multiple times with a whole wack of players on the roster. Holland is far more concerned about his legacy and reputation in his final months as GM rather than the betterment of the team. When a GM waives a player it's a public admission the GM got it very very wrong. Would "operation waiver" be the most unorthodox and extreme plan to usher in a brand new roster in the middle of a season? Yes. Will it ever get to that? Not in a million years. What's Holland's next move? Probably fire Woodcroft if Woodcroft isn't at .500 by the end of November. The problem with Ken Holland is that he waits too long to pull the trigger on anything when it comes to finding solutions to problems. Except signing very bad contracts. Holland seems to be very quick at doing that.
Every one is over reacting, its life, not that bad.
Under Ken Holland we can expect sleepy responces, Track record is poor for improvment surprises
Watching your captain try to start something, then get chicken winged. Have only Hyman try to help, [by ramming his face into JT's punches]. No one else on the ice does anything, this is not a good team. Some great players, but bad team. imo
