  1. Addison has been okay-ish on PP, but that that's been his only thing. He's on the short and light side, doesn't necessarily have jets, and hasn't been good at defense. Maybe a change of scene will help that? To be honest, this trade is a wash.

  2. It’s crazy how many former Wild members are on the Sharks. Besides Addison, there is Luke Kunin, Mikael Granlund, and Kaapo.

  3. I think this is a scenario where Guerin is at the end of his rope with Addison and does not think the upside is there, and he's trying to get assets back before that becomes apparent to the rest of the league. The Wild are also log jammed with young defensemen that are ready to be given shots in the NHL, and Spurgeon is coming back very soon. On top of that, getting Judd Brackett another draft pick to work with is always a good move.

  4. as a wild fan, the writing was on the wall for this one. most fans figured he would be dealt somewhere unless he had a very strong start to the season, which he really hasn't. last season, our power play was as good as it ever has been with him quarterbacking the top line for most of it, but he hasn't been able to replicate that this year. additionally, since spurgeon has been out, the wild have called up dakota mermis from iowa and he's been playing well enough that i don't think he'd clear waivers if they tried to send him back down. when spurgeon (and eventually goligoski) return, that leaves us with a minor log jam for the bottom d-pair, and addison wasn't able to make it clear that he deserved a spot in the lineup every single night. i have faith he'll find his game eventually, and he can probably do that better on another team with more time on ice and more opportunity within the lineup.

  5. They are getting rid of the most timid, scared d in the history of Minnesota…
ALL he can do is play cute pp minutes aka elite level pond hockey with no threats

  6. Minnesota has just acquired Zach Bogosian from Tampa Bay, so they basically swapped Addison out for him.

  7. I think they dumped him cause he is not the greatest defensively and Dakota Mermis was called up several games back and looks way better the Addison on the defensive side. so when Spurgeon comes back someone was going to be the odd man out and with Mermis playing a better overall game I think Addison would have been a healthy scratch so they just decided to dump him.

  8. Addison has always been extremely weak defensively even dating back to his time in Lethbridge. Not surprised to see him on the move.

  9. disappointed, I loved seeing him offensively but he was just miserable. Daemon Hunt has similar offensive upside and it looks like management trusts him a lot more defensively which is fair. hopefully the management can keep up the good drafting and pick up someone good with the pick

  10. This wasn't a suprise, even at a 5th rd pick. Addison could not establish himself even when our dcore was ravaged with injuries. The wild has more defensive prospects coming up in the coming years than we have roster spots. Good luck to Addison! I was rooting for him but it wasn't meant to be with the wild.

  11. Trade is easy to figure out. Wild GM decided we could eject D man Addison and whatever offense he brings for the young guys from Iowa who are more defensive. He also seen that we needed a bone breaker on the 4th line. Per the fact Maroon is producing alot on the 3rd line. Kinda like Greenway did at times in spurts. So Maroon is more of a rusher than a crusher for the Wild this season.

  12. you like this trade? Addison play horrible defense, he has been given over a year to improve by the Wild. the fact they took a 5th rounder in 2025
