OK Guys, the Montreal Canadiens were defeated last night by the Tampa Bay Lightning by a final score of 5-3. This was Tampa’s 2nd game of a back to back and the Habs have zero excuses for coming out flat in the first period during this one. Jake Allen allowed 4 goals in the first period alone, and it was just not a very good showing at all by our beloved Canadiens. Lets take a look!

been a Habs fan all my life and still am, okay Allen was week last night but this team just started the rebuild. Sure there were some good performances from our prospects and a decent start to season. Lets not kid ourselves this team is not a playoff contender nor should that be the goal of just making the playoffs. Quite content with them being a bottom 10 or even 5 team and picking up good pick. Work on all the odd man rushes and give aways, This D is still not at NHL level but they will get there with proper training and time. Stick with the rebuild plan and if all goes well the team should be ready in 4-5 years to actually go past the first round in the playoffs.
I'm surprised that more wasn't said about what a kick-ass job Montembeault did when he took over!
Goals against in the opening shift or 2 in back 2 back games? I think the Habs have been brought back down to earth.
