Would have loved to see SOME mixup on the defensive pairings.
Mikey as top line center is not what I predicted this season. Not a big fan. I get it, just not a fan.

If mercer was actually corporeal and not a spirit that haunted the ice this wouldn’t be terrible. But seeing Mikey trying to be 1C and our second relying on a slumping Dawg the rest just looks kinda shaky. That and we know this defensive setup has been porous but no adjustment?
It’s a shame Nolan Foote is hurt and won’t get a chance. This coulda been a great opportunity for him. Hopefully by December he can get back on the ice.
Defense has been an issue all year but still not a change to the pairings huh
In 25 5v5 minutes so far, the 4th line of Holtz, Tierney and Bastian have lost the expected goal battle 0.39 to 1.14, lost this scoring chance battle 4 to 13 and the high danger chance battle 1 to 6.
All 3 have been on the ice for zero goals for and two against. Tierney wasn’t on the ice for Holtz’s goal against Minnesota. Lazar and Haula were out for his assist against St Louis.
This line is bad. Simple as that. The only production Holtz has had has come from when he’s not on the ice with Tierney. His minutes only with Bastian have arguably been worse outside of the goal.
There is zero reason for him to still be playing with them, even if you think he’s been bad this year, this line is just not working at all. Free Holtz
Damn do we look depleted without Jack and Nico. If I were reading in the offseason that this would be the line combos in early November I wouldn’t be thrilled. Gonna be a rough month. But gotta do what you gotta do. Hope to see Nico sometime soon.
Not sure what is wrong with Dawson. His whole career he has played like a seasoned veteran almost, and consistency was his strong suit.
But this season, he has had load of opportunity and just missing something? Hopefully Lindy can work his magic a bit over here
