  1. Its amazing to me how edberg could control that continental forehand and still being able to generate pace.

  2. When Agassi ran off the court before the set was over, he should have been punished (A point should have been given to Edberg). It was very unsportsmanlike! Just pee in your pants when you can't hold it!

  3. Agassi.. should have been penalized for that uncalled break at 5/5 in 3rd set..

  4. Andre is super-fast and has hit 10,000,000,000 groundstrokes in his life. Stefan is super-agile and has a fantastic serve/volley….but Agassi eats serves for breakfast. I saw Agassi play Becker, and Becker didn't know what hit him. This is when Agassi first appeared on the tour. Boris hit an ace…but wait, the 'ace' is coming back at 100mph for a winner. WTF? Poor Boris got nailed that day.

  5. Edberg was past his prime then. But kudos to him for giving a prime Agassi a really tough match. It certainly can get really hot in DC in the summer.

  6. Never been a fan of agassi, he just hits hard with no strategy, I can predict where he is hitting at but when you get him with a complete player, then agassi's game falls apart

  7. Agassi is one of the first, if not the first, to break the serve and volley mold… imo. Amazing baseliner

  8. Great Final. Edberg is the best serve and volley player even better than Boris Becker. What a player he is …

  9. So it helps that by the mid 90s , racquet technology became so powerful and full of spin that serve and volleyers were forced to hit dipping low balls that most s&v hit mainly half volleys that popped up allowing baseliners to slap forehand winners from anywhere on court. The racquet technology made playing the net more and more difficult and it got worse for volleyers as each year passed

  10. That temperature would be unbearable for me. I would drink so much to avoid a headache that I would have to pee during every changeover.

  11. 28 years ago. So much for climate change. Let’s stop plastic pollution and plant more trees that will cool down the earth
