[Chad DeDominicis] Reports have indicated Patrick Kane is looking to narrow his options & it sounds like the Sabres are willing to do a multi-year ask. I discuss that & why it seems like an odd move based on what we know now. Sabres Remain in the Conversation for Kane

Would be out of the front office’s character in addition to being very dumb.

Doesn’t make any sense to me. We have Quinn, Jiri Kulich, Rosen, Biro, and Rousek as non regulars that are more than capable. Not to mention Savoie and Benson. I get a lot of these guys are young and unproven at the NHL level, but I just don’t see where Kane slides in. Help should be added to defense depth if anywhere

For a team that swore they would not block our prospects paths to the NHL they really are doing everything they can to block literally every single one.

Imagine giving a 36 year old winger with 10% a hip a 2 year deal when we have Benson, Savoie, Kulich and Rosen just fucking cooooooking and waiting to be called up. Kane is also terrible at 5v5 and on defense so he really will only help us with the powerplay.

If this move happens GMKA is basically saying we have room for one of Benson, Kulich, Savoie and Rosen and the rest will be traded. Otherwise they will be in the AHL for the next 2-3 years. I don’t know what peoples goals are, if they just want to push for a playoff spot, be happy the teams in and then whatever happens, happens. But I want to be great for along time. I don’t care if we don’t make the playoffs this year as long as the players that are supposed to be good are improving and making strides. Our team is on the cusp of being great. We just have a few more pieces in the pipelines that were waiting on. I don’t want to rush things now to jeopardize our future. I’ve waited for the playoffs this long, I can wait a bit more. Also Kane doesn’t help you get there since again his 5v5 is some of the worst in the league.

Next year would look something like this I assume?

    Skinner – Thompson – Tuch

    Quinn – Cozens – Peterka

    ??? – Mitts – Kane

    Greenway – Krebs – ???

This assumes Greenway doesn’t play in the top 9. If he does play in the top 9 then there is not one spot available. Obviously nothing has happened yet but if we are offering a 2 year deal then hes definitely coming here because i don’t know if any other teams could or would do that.

Please GOD make Kane go somewhere else.

Given Backstrom’s issues I’m less interested than ever in Kane

I would be surprised by this move, it doesn’t really make any sense to me. Maybe Pegula is pushing for the move?

I do not support signing Kane, but if you can stash him on LTIR for the end of his contract then wouldn’t it possibly help the future cap situation?

I’ll believe it when I see it but trust Adams to not fall for it if the deal asks for too many assets

  8. Track11T

This reeks of a Pegula move if it ever does happen.

  9. Adams would get on a lot of peoples bad side if he did this. We have a ton of good forward talent in the team and prospect pool, many of whom are better than Kane being as he is on the decline. That is also more money toward a position we don’t need. He has also been a scumbag off the ice in the past. Biggest mistake if we signed him, fuck that

Please, Anything to bench Olofsson and possibly krebs.

I just can’t wait for it.

I can’t wait for the smoking white hot Kane jersey and the collective meltdown of armchair GMs in this sub.

    Gonna be *chefs kiss*

This smells like the Bills signing Von Miller.
