Raegan Subban sits down to chat with Stanley Cup champion, Devante Smith-Pelly about the ups and downs of his hockey career. Including, being a black player in the NHL, scoring a massive goal to help the Washington Capitals win the Stanley Cup and playing with Alex Ovechkin

Love this dude and what he did for the caps, one of the most underrated players in that Stanley Cup winning team.
"Smith Pelly! 2 nothing!" will forever be my favorite call. Love DSP; a Cap for life.
Montreal Canadiens legend
I love DSP so much. I ride for all Black Hockey players!
I'm conflicted about how to bring up the racist incidents in an interview like this. On the one hand he is a black hockey player (that much is obvious) and that angle has to be covered, but (like Idris Elba's comments recently) he's also just a hockey player and it's kind of sad that in a short seven-minute interview recapping his career, he has to spend nearly a quarter talking about one idiot fan who (to be fair) was punished and given a lifetime ban. I don't know if that (the racist incident or incidents) should be a seperate clip (or another video address specifically to that) but it's complex in that it's almost giving power and oxygen to that idiot fan that he gets to be talked about and made part of the narrative in DSP career when DSP being from Scarborough (a hockey and black hockey player hotbed) or being a playoff performer (both in Anaheim and Washington) doesn't get that attention.
Reagan and Devante Smith Playoffs? Sign me up. Also in love with the idea of Ovi just sending his friends memes everyday 😂
Wow my boy has put on some pounds. Great guy tho loved him on the caps
loved you on the ducks
I like Devante and I love Raegan.
Went to school with Devo in junior high. Always was a great dude. Excited to see what the future has in store for him.
I can't think of a player in CAPS history that for most of his time with the team was a valuable player but not someone you'd think of as pivotal in that role. Including DSP. Until the 2018 playoffs and he became a permanent fan favorite in DC with his effort and sacrifice to help win.
