I do not understand giving Keefe an extension. Wait to see how he is as a coach.
Not every team has a complete team, most teams are short in some areas. If the defense is weak, why not adjust the style of play with the forwards coming back and helping more, and forgoing a few more offences chances. This is why I believe Keefe is bad as a coach. His only adjustment is putting Matthews, Marner and Nylander on the same when they are down. Why not prevent the chances of being down by playing a different style of hockey. No wonder he gets out coached in the playoffs, one series victory in 5 years and he's still behind the bench, someone please explain this to me?

leafs had decent penalty kill numbers last year 82%. engvall and kerfoot were there too on the pk. Lots of speed. Leafs are pretty slow now.
So you think that the play of the obvious16th expected least skilled forward in the team is the reason the Leafs are playing bad. For me Reaves is the most effective 16th forward in a team in the whole league. All he needs to do is sit on the bench and other team already has to play cleaner and less aggressive. A lot less hard hits on our core players so far.
I love the Robertson – Domi – Jarnkrok line. I hope Keefe doesnāt touch that.

Marchand slewfoots a core dman, next shift Reaves is still riding the pine. Keefe is the issue .
I don't know how they can expect to put so much money into the top 4 leaving so many gaps in the bottom lines. If they were to take just 1 of these multi million dollar contracts and use that money to sprinkle offense throughout the bottom 3 lines or in the net it would be a completely different story in Toronto. Everybody knows you build a winning team starting in the net and work your way up, not like this, not from the top to the bottom.
You have two choices fxxk the season away and donāt touch a thing wait till next year, or jump all over it and change the face. Trade Burtuzzi and trade off or waive klingberg and reaves . Bring in zadorov and tanev/ hanifin/ peeke /pecse one of those , maybe two of last ones. Then maybe Lilly or McCabe gone. Possible trade for Laughton or Lindholm at center 2nd line. You could go for Kane or konecny, thatās maybe something. But the whole thing to think about is defence first and extras second like bringing up guys from marlies that could fill in . Bottom line is is screw season or go for it one or the other. They will use whatever is needed to do, prospects, picks etc. Go Leafs Go. I have been waiting for 60 years, time the organization made a decision.
