Didn’t know that Simmer was on!
You just knew this news was coming after the Dadonov oopsie. However the penalty is too out of whack losing a first when it was worst than Chicago and was a slap on the wrist. Well, Staios will be better than Dorion for sure.

So let me get this straight. The NHL goes after Ottawa by taking their first round pick away, but they only give Chicago a fine for a sexual assault case that involved management. I think Bettman loves to go after Canadian teams.
The NHL, not telling Andlauer that this was hanging over the team he is getting ready to buy for almost a billion dollars is simply not kosher. Since they took so long to make this decision and Dorion has been let go by the team, the penalty should be reduced to at least to a 2nd rounder.
Only thing I can guarantee is that there is more to come on both the Vegas and Pinto issues. Canada and the news in general is about distraction. What's really going on will inevitably come out.
I agree with the experience when you're talking about a guy that's had some hits and some misses, but Chiarelli's track record is just so bad… Very unlikely that a new guy would be even worse
When on TSN1200 i disagreed with Simmer so actively he blocked mw on twitter.
After watching this ive done a complete reversal.

The writing was on the wall for Pierre Dorion’s ouster as the GM when new Sens owner Michael Andlauer hired Steve Staios as Dorion’s boss instead of promoting Dorion to that position.

Thank God Dorion is gone. One of the best days in franchise history. Right behind Melnyk buying the team and then Melnyks selling.
It was so obvious Dorion was not qualified to be a GM.
The owner of Oshawa is from Windsor as is DJ. They know each other, hopefully results actually matter.
