  1. Ghule is +9 atm in 10 games, and he came back from injury to play in those b4b loses. This guy is playing against the best lines of opposing teams and hasn't even played and entire season worth of NHL as a D man

  2. This was the first game of the season in which I noticed quality tape to tape passes by most of the Habs. It wasn't perfect, in that respect, but noticeably better than many other games so far this season.

  3. When Habs have Reinbacher, Gouhli, Hutson they will become best, even bottom 3 will be solid.

  4. If the Habs can come back tomorrow and beat the Canucks, what a confidence boost for a young team. These types of wins show the rebuild is going in the right direction. They probably aren't making the playoffs but the young players are gettiing better and that is all that really matters this season.

  5. Totally agree, was such a good game. I was on the edge of my seat all night.

  6. Montreal won 5 out of its 7 wins in OT, lost only twice in overtime, but both times were in SO, half of the Canadiens games ended up in overtime in total. Obviously a win is a win, but in such a close division as the Atlantic giving points for free to the other clubs in the division is a dangerous game.

It’s not too bad yet because we haven’t played our own division much, but if we project that on 82 games, its 41 points by default that we provide our adversaries, that’s without estimating who won or lost, which if split 50/50 translates to roughly 60 points. 26 out of 82 games are divisional (around 31%), which equals to 20 points that we will give our division opponents, do the Canadiens have the luxury to afford that ?

Keeping the lead in the 3rd period is a crucial component the CH has to work on to get anywhere, now or in the future.

  7. A classic victory over the Bruins and another OT win for the Cardiac Kids. Another great game in net for Monte. Good to see Gally back on track as well. The passing tonight was excellent and the Habs transitioned out of their own end very effectively. Eddie Shore, old time hockey.

  8. One good game doesn't change anything. Like I keep saying half the roster won't be on this team in two years time. The core guys need to learn to play at a high level together consistantly and for those on the chopping block games like this only adds to their value. I do like they are able to push games into ot and let their speed take over, but you can't rely on that, games need to be won on regulation. But it was nice to see them be able to mostly shutdown the best team in the league.

  9. Every time I watch Suzuki play, and pay attention to the litle things he does so well, I can't help but think he's going to be our Patrice Bergeron for the next 10 years. Same demeanour, same quiet humble leadership. And very similar skillset now that he's woked on his faceoffs. He'll never lead the league in scoring, but he'll play smart and be productive in all game situations. 😋

  10. it has been pretty bleak these last 15 years for the Habs. And no, you can't count the Bubble Cup run. It was clearly an awful team that beat up on a weak division and had the last great Price performance. My point is that this team is finally skilled up front and FUN! Also, you guys' enthusiasm is delightful. It's like you are describing Desjardins in Game 2!
