Bruins Are Defying Expectations Through the Season’s First 12 Games

Yes they have played some of the lower ranked teams in the league, but they are banking points which is key for when things change later in the season.

  1. While I’m of course happy about our great start, and to see that the doomsday predictions were wrong, nevertheless, I can’t say I’m excited about this. After what we went through last year, the regular season means so little to me that in a way, I’m happy to see us lose here and there.

  2. You can only play the teams your scheduled to play, they have to play those teams, The League forces them to stick to the schedule assigned to The Boston Bruins, They dont have a choice !!! Geeeze People, Come on Man. !!!!!

  3. I thought after the first 6 or so games it was just the weak schedule but with all the recent wins vs much tougher competition the bruins are legit

  4. I'm still hoping the bruins can do something via the trade market this season. I know we're up against it salary cap wise, but they have some nice young defenseman we've seen over the last couple of games that might get us a star center! Your thoughts?

  5. Somehow we forgot that “awesome “ record last year and yet out in the first round. Talk trash after the season

  6. I never doubted this season we would fall back. This team is different, more patient, and good ole strict hockey. Love our chances this year, let’s just hope we can continue in playoffs

  7. Swayman showing his elite starting status. And Bussi is in the ahl ready. Ullmark might be on his way out sooner rather than later. But I’m very happy and pleasantly surprised how great they have been

  8. With Krejci and Bergeron leaving it left a hole and people didn’t think certain Bruins players would step up to the plate and fortunately so far they have. Zacha, Coyle, Potras, Van Riemsdyk and even Lucic when he’s healthy is very effective.

  9. I said it last season and I'll say it again this season. Yes, winning games in the regular season is important to get into the playoffs. Yes, there's some validity to winning enough to get favorable seeding. None of this matters if they get bounced in the first round again. I like winning grittier, closer games. It builds an edge, a hardness and resilience to the team. If they are going to not waste another regular season, they MUST build that. It was too easy to push Boston around physically last year and get them off their game. That better not happen again.

  10. Bruins will choke in playoffs, it’s as predictable as daylight savings time.

  11. I’ve learned not to be too happy with bruins with how they always seem to find a way to lose when it matters, but I was happy they kept both ullmark and swayman and this start has eased some of the thoughts of being one of the worst teams in the league this year

  12. I need to go back and see what you were saying about Boston at this time last year. If I remember correctly, you were saying back then that they wouldn't maintain their lead then too. I'm sorry, but all summer long we were told that the Bruins would fall apart now that Krecji and Bergeron was gone. Seems like there is a lot of wishful thinking.
