Trying to find some information on this coin for my husband.

My husband’s aunt collected coins and he was gifted a portion of her collection, with this included. I’ve been unable to find anything on this specific coin online and another subreddit suggested I try here. It has 9 diamonds and 9 championship years listed.

I had a similar coin from around the same time.

I’d suggest getting it checked out, maybe by a jeweler, but mine was relatively worthless – plated gold coin, probably zinc on the inside. These were made as “collectibles” and as such, usually don’t have any actual monetary value beyond the memento they provide.

If the diamonds are real, maybe they’re worth a few bucks, but even that might be a stretch.

Coin company called Enviromint use to make them. I have a few from the glory years. Standard 99% silver ones I think use to cost $30. That one is limited edition and gold on the Wing, and the diamonds, so would have cost a lot more. My limited edition one for 1997 & 1998 had a run of 7500 seen others with runs of 1998. If you google Enviroment sports coins Red Wings, you will see some on sale and get an approximate worth. I think the company went out of business years ago.
