Vegas Trades Haula to Carolina for a Prospect

This looks like a pure cap dump, though we saw this coming.

  1. Why don’t they try and get a pick at least too, even if it’s just a 6th rounder

  2. After this trade we are $83.9 million, and it was said that Nosek will be signed today for right around $1.0 million. In my opinion, GM and KM are setting up to trade for a top 4 defenseman. We are have too many people around a million but I hope that they do not look to ship Ryan Reaves and his $2.75. He is the heart and soul of the 4th line. We also now faced with a situation where we will promote either Glass or Roy into the center on 4th, with Carrier on LW. Feel very strongly that Derek Engellend will retire, thus opening up a spot for a stronger, younger face on defense. Also looks like Bellemare may also not return. This is most interesting and it is amazing how the VGK fans come up with all kinds of theories when we have no look into the brain trust. Oh, and we still have to sign Gusev or all of this will be a waste of time.

  3. I loved watch Haula with the Wild, with the Gophers and really didn't like the trade to Vegas at all. I was so pleased that he was giving an opportunity for top 6 minutes in Vegas and took it and ran. I like the trade for Carolina and hope him and Nino reunited can tear it apart.

  4. I am still concerned with the Carolina's team defense…lots of talent on the back end but I still felt they were a bit loosey goosey with the puck in their zone and their goalies really saved their asses most of the time. Not sure you can win a cup or continue to go to playoffs without a better commitment to team defense. Maybe I am wrong but would love to hear some feedback…maybe I am the only one feeling this way?

  5. Youll probably see Meryll (yes i spelled it wrong) or someone similar to go as well. Also, a little known fact, Haula was limping during the exibition softball game against the Raiders here in Vegas last week. So he is definitely not at 100% yet from that horrid injury he got last season. This was purely a cap move though. Even with the injury and current limp I dont think VGK moves Haula if there was cap space, not without seeing how he plays thos upcoming season first. Everyone here in Vegas will miss Haula a lot regardless of the reason why he got traded. He will always be a part of the VGK family here in Vegas.

  6. I said over year ago that Haula would be a 40 goal scorer if he could play with a playmaker like Aho. Time to see if I was right…

  7. Loved watching Haula play, was really bummed to see him get injured this last season. Hope all the best for him, he always played hard and you could see the difference when he was on the ice.

  8. Sad to see Haula go, he was worth the contract and I felt bad when he got injured. Hes good and I wish him the best in Carolina.

  9. I don't know if I agree it's a pure cap dump. Most of us saw the writing on the wall the second Stone was signed, Haula was probably on the way out. Problem was good trade value was horrible with the injury. Even now, Carolina is taking a risk with his cap that he would return to a 20+ goal scorer. I don't think many teams would risk it and we probably got the best return even if we weren't in cap hell.

  10. With so many Finns on the Carolina roster I'm gonna call this team Carolina Hurriganes.
