  1. He's here because he's very hockey smart that part is clear to me, and Coffey is here to bring a pressence and leadership basically. Coffey may not have the coaching experience, but dont underestimate the winning experience and the effect that can have in the room

  2. Best of luck, Kris. Hope you get that first W with the team tonight, and many more thereafter.

  3. They'll get their 10 game bump like they always do with a new coach, but I fear we'll fall into the same trappings after that.

  4. This guy could be the most amazing coach in the world and it won't make a bit of difference. Edmonton management will never, ever, allow this team to succeed. If the goalie coach isn't mucking it up enough for them they will bring in a toxic "CEO of Hockey" to kill any momentum we had and muck it up even further.

  5. There's no "I" in Woodcroft, nor Knoblauch and as I remember no "i" in Team. The need some "D".

  6. Ken Holland should take the larger blame I think for the team's lack of success.

  7. I liked these answers. I am still very much against Woodcroft's firing as he brought the best out of our depth and especially defense as such a smart guy, but he did lack the ability to motivate. I'm not against Knobber's hiring, he does intrigue me, I think he can be good. Results will answer our questions, but I hope he doesn't pull an Aliens 3 where he throws away everything great from the last installment.

  8. Wait for another coach get trained no rookie coach wins Stanley cure so there goes another year Dam. More accountability for the stars

  9. If you’re a real fan…you’ll hold the boys down in this possibly rough transition. Let’s go boys, let’s bounce back!

  10. I like what he has to say about holding players accountable. One of Woody's faults is that he would bench a young player for a whole period or game but would not hold veterans accountable.

  11. I continued cheering for the Oilers as one of their biggest fans when they traded Gretzky. I continued to support them when they traded Ryan Smith, I held out hope after the Chris Pronger fiasco. I understand that sometimes a coach must be replaced for the benefit of the club but this is unacceptable to me. Jay was a great coach and a great representative of the Oilers organization. This guy is an empty vessel in comparison. The team is responsible for their horrible start and the 2 best players in the NHL just haven't shown up. Jay was the scapegoat and I am now embarrassed for the Oilers front office executive team. How many goals do number one and number two have combined this season? And you fire the coach that tranformed this team dramatically after a dozen games? The losers in this organization are not the players or their former coach…just saying.

  12. Oiler recipe for disaster; a McDavid Sandwich

One slice of Jeff Jackson & another slice of Kris Knoblauch, filled with loads of Holland-aise flavoured baloney.

Chase it with a little Paul Coffee & a Dustin Schwartz, to go…
