I was in grade 3 when Crosby came in the league and I caught the hockey bug haaaarrrrddd. When he retires I actually might cry a little.

If he stays healthy this season (consider all the injury time he missed in his prime), Crosby can leapfrog Paul Coffey, Mark Recchi, Joe Thornton, Ray Bourque, and Phil Esposito this season in career points, putting him in the top 10 of all-time! 😊
Let this sink in….. Crosby has more points right now than Ovechkin and has played in 150 less games! Also noteworthy – If Sid plays 5 more years including the current one and puts up an average of 80 points (Totally doable). He will have 400 more points moving him to 3rd place all time and very close to surpassing Jagr for 2nd place… GO PENS…..!!!!
Crosby is one of the best in history, obviously. Sakic had a 100 point season at 37 in a considerably lower scoring era; Sid can easily do it.
Crosby has the best hand eye coordination of any player ever. Probably only behind Gretzky, Lemieux, Orr, and maybe Howe as the best player ever.
I think if you were to look at his one 50 goal season a lot of the goals would have been tip ins and things of that nature.
If Malkin hadn’t had all the injuries , Sid the Kid would have been the second best player on this Penguins run.

There is only a small window for most athletes when they are up on the peak of the curve. In sports like hockey, football, MMA etc. It is inspirational to see when the greats in their sport (GOATs) can extend and widen that curve for several additional years.
Hat tricks that involve empty netters still feel like a such a copout regardless of who it is.
as an ovi fan, crosby is the best player to ever play besides bossy. Not a popular opinion but he's one of the only players in history that has a montage on every single skill within hockey with the exception of hitting. Just type skill + crosby + montage, you'll find it.
IQ, edge/foot work, corners, hand eye, tipping, scoring from the goal line, defensive awareness, backhand, passing etc.
