  1. Well that's three times now in the last 15 years now that something like this has happened but never once before in all the history of hockey up until the last 15 years, and why? Because it's the stupid pathetic American attitude "win at all costs".
So basically because of that attitude the games are more crazier then they ever have been before. "Losing isn't an option" or "winning isn't everything it's the only thing" those are the kinds of sayings that got us in trouble.
I call it "The Great American Grand illusion".

  2. It's the worlds most dangerous game. Faster motion, sharper blades. Iron, Wood-Fiberglass-Graphite, Super Hard Rubber @100 MPH Pucks shot at you, Steel Blades, Iron Posts, Netting, Plexi Glass, Body Checks, at super fast speeds and velocity, etc etc etc…. Best get PROTECTED from HEAD to TOE!

  3. Last time it happened was Richard zednick when he played for the Panthers. Before that was nemchinov from the Rangers, but that wasn't extremely bad. The skate blade went through the sock. He said,he didn't feel it till he took the sock off.And saw so much blood come from the area of his leg. Of course there was the Clint malarchuck from the sabers. He got his throat sliced

  4. Accidents like this happen alot. We're getting at least 1 a year or two it seems. But at least theyre true Accidents. Which is nothing like the Johnson one where he was karate kicked to the throat. If you want a proper comparison to that at best your gonna get is sliced Achilles from a skate stomp, which some dirty plyers use in puck battles. I remember brad stuart taking a skate to the neck in the playoffs after a body check sent the guy flying, his playoff beard saved him. I believe at the time they mentioned how the skates are sharpened in a way to help minimize Accidents.

  5. Players wear blades in this sport this is going to happen I think players are well aware of the dangers of playing hockey, that's partly why they get paid millions of dollars to do so

  6. I can see the left trying to ban hockey simply for being a white dominated sport but lie and say it’s too dangerous

  7. The neckguard will be a thing in the future. Remember that visors were not mandatory years ago and now they are to protect the eyes.

  8. considering how much ice time players log, games/practice, skate cuts are still a rarity and is an inherent danger everyone accepts. Just like the dangers of any other sport or event, comes with the game.

  9. Don't compare this situation to the one where the other player kicked the guy in the throat and kill him, one was intentional and one was not intentional.

  10. My guess is that it's a very common occurrence and we just haven't heard about it until someone died. This happens in other sports as well especially

  11. Players getting cut by blades isn't anything new. A player using his blades as a weapon with intent to injure in the thing that caught the interest. Still praying for Jordan…. in fact, one of my first years playing hockey (like 25 years ago, when I was like 7) a kid fell and his glove came off. Us being young and not the best skaters, the kid got stepped on and cut his fingers open. He went on to live a happy life and actually serves in the Air Force now

  12. This is bs! So what, did they pay a couple players to intentionally hurt other players? People are getting paid! I’m sure there’s a ton of money to be made mandating a certain piece of equipment!

  13. I don't understand, this happened to Evander Kane early last season as well. He has not been the same since, this year he has decided to learn the fine art of play making for a change. Shooting hard when you get skate to the wrist area, especially when you have gone past the wall (healing ain't so easy after 30).

  14. Only difference, the opponent wasn’t deliberately trying to hurt or kill him like that ahole in the UK.

  15. His throat was slashed by another player…….not by his skate!!! Corrected that for you!!
