Great player, people should take a look at the draft classes from years prior. Going early does not make you an automatic first line player.
Oh and Lundell is 6th in points in his draft class. Not bad for a 12th pick.
Lundell is still very young, I’d still give him at least 2 more seasons before throwing the towel, he’s still very dependable defensively
No friggin way is lundell a bust. Tippet and vatrano both are game changers the panthers shipped out.
Ok – I am commenting before watching the video but I do not see how Lundell would be considered a bust. I am not worried about his numbers. Lundell has been interviewed saying that he is not focused on padding his stats this year, or on the short-term, but rather is focusing on his positioning, defense, and play without the puck because he wants to be a more complete player. Lundell has too high of a hockey IQ to totally give up on him now. He said that he wants to play in the league a long time and knows that for that to happen, he cannot just be a one-dimensional player. One thing though that I will say is Lundell needs to work on his strength – he gets bumped off the puck WAAYYY too much. If he works on strength and size (bulk up) in offseason, then that will help help his overall game. I do not think he is going anywhere – you need contributing players like him on cheaper deals if you want to win the Cup.
Lundell is still young. He may not have the offensive numbersjust yet but trust me, it's coming. He is invaluable on the penalty kill as well. He also needs consistent linemates in order to flourish. I would put some guy named Patrick Kane on his wing. Remember how much Barky grew by playing with Jagr. I know, Kane is no Jaromir Jagr but atill. Alright – NOW to the video, lol.
People are too quick to want to throw out a player
Yep he's right Lundell is a total bust. Now trade him to a team. See what happens to Lundy. And see what people say about the Panthers. I have a feeling it won't be along the lines of "smart to trade this player now that he's officially a bust".
I agree with the video. Tippett is getting tons of minutes in a rebuild, Crouse benefitted from same. Thise two ex-cats are being fed much better opportunities and needed a fresh opportunity to make the most of their career at that point in time. Would Tippett be in a Mairice lineup? Crouse likely would but still probably doesnt live up to where he was drafted. Lundell should show better now that Bennett should be healthy and he will have a more settled/permanent role on 3L and linemates. Lundell did not look like a bust in playoffs!

He has 83 points in 153 games. He is a 2-way center who last year and yet again this year playing with to many different players. He is no way a bust and think he will be perfectly fine. No reason to try to compare to other players, different systems, different teammates, different needs or expectations of the team. People complaining about Lundell dont understand hockey team structure or the real expectations from the team.

Nah no way. Hes still very good defensively and just because his offense isnt first line material doesnt make him a bust. If he ends up being a 40pt defensive 3rd line centre for his whole career, that is a valuable asset to have. I think his rookie year set the expectations that his offense would keep climbing to first line production.
Man I’m so happy for Tippett. Always liked him especially “Ginger snipes” that nickname is just too good.
I mean also, look at what he does in the shootouts. Amazing hands and he does have a finisher mentality there. So we know what he is capable of he just needs to translate that flashy style onto the ice, which is probably hard for him considering Maurice’s system or whatever. I think he has what it takes to be better than Bennett for sure but he just has to prove it to himself he can
The president year, a major contribution was having lundell with marchy was nasty. That third line would counter act teams first lines allowing our first line to out match other teams third lines. Its a team sport hopefully zito finds him a quality line mate like rodreguiz with sasha and rhino
