Everyone thinks it’s the goalies, but that’s silly. Our defence is terrible and until it’s corrected all that will happen is we’ll destroy another goalie by doing what we did repeatedly to Soup and Stew. Fix the main problem first then the goalies can be assessed in the correct context.
Yeah Cam Talbot is lookin good in LA… carreer 2.64 GAA .914 % SV Only had one bad year with OIlers slash Flyers. Skinner is no prize either and the reason they lost in playoffs last year.
Pickard hasn’t done F all in the NHL, only the Oilers would think this was better, more than likely more about the cap relief but Pickard is an example that the Oilers aren’t too serious about making the playoffs

Neither Allen or Binnington are worth going after. If you’re going to for a Goalie, go big or not at all. I really hope Pickard can be our No.1, but with our D, I doubt it. Don’t like the lines but hopefully they’ll pull off a win with that line up. Should never split up RNH and Hyman, McDavid is basically a one man show most nights, tries to go up the middle by himself far too often. My top 3 lines would be McLeod-McDavid-Foegele, Kane-Holloway-Draisaitl, Lavoie-RNH-Hyman.

Soup seems like a nice guy but his time playing for the Oilers again should be finished. It’s best for him and the organization if he can move. Hopefully Holland can trade his contract to the Blackhawks or Ducks to facilitate a deal to improve the club.
How are the oilers not targeting carter hart when philly already said they are willing to move him and also take on a bad contract when the price is right. Something like: soup, 2 1st rounders and a prospect for hart. Steep price but the time to win is now we cant keep screwing around.. why keep all the draft picks and all those good prospects when the team desperately needs help..
I look at that lineup and think "how on earth have these guys only won 2 out of 11".
Binnington's temper and Oiler's lack of defense sounds like a way to build up to a nuclear blast.
Allen is post his prime. Will he even be better than Campbell?
I think Carter Hart is the way to go for the Oilers. It will cost an arm and a leg, but Philly would at least be willing to do it, and it's a good solution in net both in the short term, and beyond that.
As a neutral, I love the kind of game that the one vs the Sharks will be. There's so much tension. It's rare to find a game that so much hinges on this early in the season. And with the Sharks finally getting a win, the outcome doesn't seem as given. Too bad it starts 4:30 AM for me, but I hope to catch a replay of it after work, and avoid spoilers until I can.
