Huge mistake, how many teams are now scouting the Oilers bench for next season. Firing Woody is a desperation move, when your top two players have 1 goal between them in the last 10 games. Not blaming the top two but the owners know who's healthy, and both Leon and Connor don't look like them selves. And the Oilers have a couple of easier games ahead this week. Bad move, and I'm not a die hard Oiler fan.
Maybe they should bench some players to see if it gets them motivated.

They can not lose tomorrow the oilers and this coach has to prove to me that this is a good change because I hate it so much you can’t lose this game and not have holland and Jackson feeling down on themselves

I know that emotions are running high & hot right now but hear me out. What's done is done we have to move on & carry forward. I see that this transition might work out because Knoblauch & both Connor's have played for him before and with Coffey stepping down into the dressing room, bench & practice ice he will help in this transition process plus relay valuable information to Katz & Jackson. Let's hope Jeff Jackson is looking for Kenny's replacement. Inevitably even he (KH) too will have to transition either into retirement or … Just sayin😢

What a knee jerk reaction! Players don't have any determination so fire the coach. At some point, its on the players to put out on a continual basis. The person who should be fired is Ken Holland. Lets see, Toronto doesn't want a goalie, so Holland hires him at 25,000,000 over 5 years… 5,000,000 per year, against the salary cap! And Woodcroft gets fired?! Trade players like Draisaitl (8,000,000) that can't carry a puck without a bucket and rarely backchecks, or Hopkins (5,125,000) who can't show up in playoffs, even though he had a good regular season.

Ken Holland would not hire 2 coaches with no NHL experience mid season. Coffey has no coaching experience. This was Katz's decision and this is why the Oilers will never win with him as owner. A complete joke.

Holland’s trying to buy time, but the players are forcing his hand, from a worst case position of vulnerability. He’s blundered trades/signings & valuable cap space, with time becoming his biggest enemy.

The Oilers should considering giving their GM the boot. He has made some horrendous signings and cannot be consistent with coaches. This hurts players, especially young ones development. People need to understand how much of a role GMs play with producing on ice product

That press conference was so incredibly embarrassing. Paul Coffey just sat there like a dummy. Holland even forgot about him at first. When Coffey did talk he just sucked up to upper management for his precious Oiler food stamps. The other 3 blind mice were almost incoherent. What an absolute embarrassment lol. You know the other 31 teams were sitting back laughing at these geniuses. Knob couldn’t answer a damn question. He never even knew what he was being asked most of the time. Holland looked like he just got bent over his desk, and the silver haired monkey on the end just sat there and looked stupid the whole time. I am officially embarrassed to the point that I can no longer support this circus 😂.
