This is a good contract which proves the Canes are on the right gtrack. There really isn’t much else for me to say on the matter.

Its important to realize that the canes also need to hit the cap floor in a couple years. You cannot have all contracts come off the books and be stuck taking everyone elses bad contracts, or sign UFA to bad contracts. You also have to keep in mind that not a lot of UFA would choose Canes over many other options.
I am not sure about taxes but I sometimes hear that plays a big role on where players choose to sign as well.
Sebastian Aho is definitely going to be one of their key players
I'm not even a canes fan and I'm excited to watch them play this year. I say they make the wildcard spot if the Islanders and panthers struggle
carolina have a realy good group of young defencement! hanifin, slavin , bean, fleury imo they are the future nashville preds in 2/4 year
This contract is a good lock-up deal, considering the Canes are looking to turn the corner with that good young D-corps. They're going to BECOME so much better defensively in the next few years. Any goalie coming into this system are gonna look fantastic.

this feels like an edler type deal for Carolina. If he flops you cant move him and you lose cap space
Hey man I don't know how you feel because I've never had kids but I can tell you you're doing amazing here. You have a fantastic almost non bias view of the NHL. I watch and like almost every vid because you're a real person, you don't have a fake persona or anything and I love that about you. Keep doing whatever makes you happy, you're really a good man.
One of the absolute best defensemen in the league. He's been under the radar, but he won't be anymore. Potential face of the franchise in the future.

I met Jaccob in person after his hat trick vs the islanders and he is an amazing person and a great up and coming player
