Alexander Holtz and Luke Hughes Move Into Prominent Roles

The guys discuss thee new look Lindy Ruff put out at practice and if it could help unlock consistency for the Devils early in thee season.

Alexander Holtz has been shuffled throughout the roster but now could find himself on the second pairing with Tofolli and Mercer. While still needing to improve his on puck play, this certainly could be a dynamic line for New Jersey.
Defensively, it has not been good, to put it kindly. Moving Luke Hughes up to the top pair with Hamilton puts an attacking duo front and center – while the a need for physicality could come in sliding Bahl down alongside Smith

  1. Does everyone REALLY believe, that Lindy Ruff, is the reason that this team had an historic turnaround last season? Lindy: 4th best record all-time in coaches? Great…great. What have you done for us lately? Lindy, the unbelievably talented “developmental” coach? I present to you, one ALEXANDER HOLTZ. Let’s just stop with the “Lindy’s awesome!” silliness. I’ve been saying it for years now: Ruff, Will NEVER get us to th3 Stanley Cup, PERIOD.

  2. Get rid of brendan smith the guy sucks at defense and takes wayyyy too many penalties.

  3. I fault Lindy for Hischier's injury. Everyone could see the opponents target Hischier in every single shift. Lindy did absolutely nothing against it! Dude has to go. We won't win shit being a "nice" team.

  4. You guys are really banking some great casts here. Thanks for the content!! Glad to see Holtz is getting a shot. Hopefully he can really take advantage of it because I don't believe it will be long-lived. Jack is expected back soon, I hear.
As far as a trade, I wouldn't be opposed to Holtz being part of a trade for Z. Like you said, Holtz needs a place that will give him ice time and look at him differently.
    Hope he fills the net.
