Andrew Mangiapane crosscheck on Jared McCann – Tough Call Recommendation
Andrew Mangiapane received a match penalty for crosschecking Jared McCann in the neck/head, driving his face into the ice. The NHL’s Department of Player Safety has announced a hearing.
It will be interesting to see what the NHL hands out here. That was so blatant, I don't know how they don't throw the book at Mangiapane…. but it's the NHL.
One game is a joke. It should've been 6 minimum like you said. Back of the neck head, not a hockey play, the league is so inconsistent in it's rulings, it's a complete joke.
The cross check on the back when they player on the ice happens alot. I don't like the play but it happens alot due to the aggression on the game. This case is bad but this happens in hockey all the time. Maybe a 1 game suspension but 8 games is pretty heavy. Not a good play but to sever in my opnion. He isn't even know for being a dirty player.

I think players have gotten away with crosschecking for so long, that it is automatic to do it. 8 games sounds good to me.

Not condoning, deserved more games suspended for it, but ironically, the crosscheck did, in fact, seem to make the puck squirt out.
This is one of the most dangerous hits I have ever seen and this joker got a game!!! PS needs to up its game.
