Brian Burke: "If you can't beat them, Join them!"
Someone should of asked him if he had a "putting on the workout gear" moment as he did in Toronto. But then again, the workout would have to be imminent for that to happen. And judging by his cheeseburger routine at Sportsnet, I don't think Mr. Burke is too enthusiastic about working out these days.
I like how he kept talking about being a GM but that’s not his new job. Going to be INTERESTING.
I love and respect Brian as human being first and also as hockey man. He’s awesome and is so easy to like because of his ‘family first’ mentality and his consistency in his personality.
I hate that he works for Pittsburgh now. Can’t root for him there.

I don't know exactly why, but I cringe every time I hear grown men refer to another grown man as "Burkie." I get it if the nick-name is used between old friends who have known each other for decades — once a Burkie always a Burkie — but c'mon. I would never walk up to a guy like Brian Burke and call him Burkie. Don't get me wrong: Burke shares equal blame in this mess. He should never have allowed this Burkie thing to get off the ground in the first place. "Hello, Mr. Burke. Nice to meet you." Brian's response: "Call me Burkie, please." Uh, ok.
