From the Van Review of Islanders vs Canucks

That was an excellent game tonight. The Canucks showed a lot of fight in this one.

  1. They should do this while driving east along the Fraser, so they can be streaming from a van down by the river!

  2. On TV, they showed Hughes go over and talk to his linemates during the extended stoppage. I gotta believe he was drawing up the play that ended in the OT winner. Beautiful deception in the D-zone to get Hughes streaking up the ice, uncovered. It's awesome to see your enthusiasm after a game like that. I know the buzzing feeling you get when your team surprises you with a win.

  3. We have a favorable schedule for something like the next 7-8 games. I just hope the injury bug don't get us to bad. We could be number one in points by Christmas. It could happen. Not saying it will. Different players come up big every night.

  4. I know it’s probably going to be short lived but Canucks are in 1st place in the division and conference and second in the whole NHL . 6:44

  5. Miller was a Beast tonight for the Canucks! He had an important role in all four Canucks goals: a one-timer PPG- a saucer pass to Boeser PPG – a screen on Hronek's goal – a beautiful pass to Hughes on OT goal. In all fairness, we as Canucks are down on Miller when he is off his game; however, he also deserves to be duly respected and praised when he has a night like this for the Canucks.

  6. I was in sec 118 row 6. I think you were near us. I'm pretty sure I recognized Ms Hockey Guy in the concourse but was only like 50% sure, but it makes sense that you were there.

  7. Haha. I can tell you two have a solid marriage from your banter. (I actually mean this). Glad you guys had fun.

My family had a ton of fun too. Diwali night was bumping!!

  8. i kept saying when we were down 2 goals twice in that game that if we are legit we could come back and win this game. Great stuff.

  9. Really, really fun to hear you living your best life, recognized in public for doing a good job on something you love – very cool and I’m happy to see it.

  10. I'm excited to watch Shannon react to the Canucks road to the cup through this year.

  11. I'm happy to hear that Shannon is recognizable, at least when he is at a Canucks game. I'm an Islanders fan (and a subscriber), let us know if you ever make it out to UBS Arena. I'll walk you and your wife down to my company's corporate suite (not a joke). I'm fortunate to work for a company that has a suite in the arena of my favorite hockey team.

  12. I love your banter with your wife driving. The long drive back home. Such respect to each other! Your a hockey icon here.

  13. Just cause Myers is playing good for his last year doesn't take away how shit he was this passed 5 years he gotsta go!

  14. This felt like the canucks team from a couple years ago in every way
    Bullied In the first period
Let in a couple of power play goals
Start to put it together in the second
Put it together in the third
    Win in OT.
Literally the canucks from a couple of years in a nutshell

  15. As a long term Canucks fan with Canuck-PTSD, I had to go away form the TV after the 2-0 goal. Managed to catch the last two mins and the OT. You must forgive us Old Canuckers as we have been through a lot and expect the Canucks to fall into old patterns and disappoint. Demko needs to stay in his goal and track the puck better especially off the backboards. Good to see Horvat.

  16. In the games where Demko gets less shots there's always going to be more of a temptation to go into wandering goaltender mode. He often ends up causing a long sequence of puck pressure in the Canucks zone by putting it somewhere under pressure.

  17. Great to see the Canucks responding and coming from behind. I'm hoping they have what it takes to get through any upcoming adversity.

  18. MY BOY BLUE!!! I’ll always remember watching Teddy Blueger in Wilkes-Barre and getting to see him play well enough to become a regular NHLer! I’m happy for him and glad he won a Cup in Vegas even though he didn’t play the majority of the playoff run with Vegas

  19. I’m always amazed how a game can be so different period to period. Same people. Totally different performance.
