Well yeah. He’s a 20yr old goaltender. Another Adams failure was not going and getting a #1 goalie for him to learn behind.

Yes. He’s a fresh NCAA grad.
He needs AHL experience.

Yes. Is this even debatable?

They need to send him down to develop in the AHL and call up a spare forward so we can actually run 4 lines. UPL and Comrie are clearly our 2 best goalies right now.

I don’t disagree that he needs more playing time, and learning in the AHL is a great place to make mistakes and learn from them.
But
What if the deal was he signs with us only if we don’t send him down? In other words, is it possible that he wanted assurances he’d stay in the NHL or he’d go to the open market? If true, our choices were either 1) watch him walk or 2) keep him up with the Sabres.
In this fan fiction version, we don’t have the option available that everyone is calling for, what then?

Granato and Adams don’t believe in sheltering their prospects. You can absolutely argue that Levi belongs in the AHL, but they believe the can develop players in the NHL.

Most likely. UPL has looked like the better option this season.
Should run with Comrie and UPL and let Levi season in the AHL a bit.
