  1. It's great that we've qualified, but being a small nation doesn't give an excuse for 22 years of not qualifying. Plenty of countries with small or smaller populations qualify fairly regularly for competitions. Look at what Iceland have done and their population is about half of Glasgow! Great news that we've managed to finally qualify though!

  2. How he managed to not mention Paul Pogba is mind boggling. Never seen SOURness not dribble his name in a point he’s making.

  3. I'm Scottish and don't agree with Souness. Iceland have half a million people and beat England at the last Euros. Holland has only 6 million people and they've had some great teams.

  4. Every other country ppl love the chance they can win it but us Scots 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 just love the fact we qualified ❤️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿👍…. Finally

  5. The Scots bless 'em,qualifying and bring on the English and all that,I think they are forgetting a team called Croatia…..didn't they get to the world cup final…hhhnnnmmm, good luck😂

  6. As a group of new immigrants from Hong Kong, Scotland qualified for Euro gives us a new reason to rally behind this wee nation. In 80s and 90s, we watched Kenny Dalglish, Gary McAllister, Ally McCoist etc playing for Scotland in various games.

  7. population of scotland 5 million, population of uruguay 3 million. 2 world cups, and many appearances in the knockout stages. its not population

  8. Personally i don't think that's a good mentality. Look at Uruguay they only have 5 or 6 million. And their goal is not only to qualify, but to reach quarterfinals at least.

  9. "It's a numbers game."

I can understand that the higher the playing population, the better their chance of succeeding, but this just sounds like an excuse for failure. If what he was saying was true then countries like Croatia would never qualify for a major tournament, let alone get to the SF and final of one over the last 20 years. Wales as well.

  10. Can't wait to thrash the short skirters again !
    Enjoy your day out clowns

  11. Dont Wales and Ireland outperform Scotland and have a smaller population… not to mention both those countries have Rugby as the main sport

  12. "it's a numbers game, Scotland have a population of 5 million"
Croatia have approx 4 million, reached the final in 2018 and came third before as well.

  13. Its not just a "numbers game" though. Its a balance between funding, attitude, history, diet, facilities AND population numbers. Just ask Uruguay etc (and Iceland a while back).

  14. Uruguay has 3 lillion inhabitants. Crotia has 4 miloion. They punch above their weight. The U.S. has 350 million. They underperform.

"Small country" excuses have little credibility…

  15. Scotland have had excellent teams in the past, it's a real shame it's taken them over 20 years to follow up from the 98 World Cup. Hopefully they become tournament regulars after this.

  16. I understand what Graeme souness says about a numbers game and we Scots have a small population compared to England or Germany france the big football nations. But countrys like croatia have went beyond the group stages to a final etc. I do think scottish culture has to change how we go about sport in our country our mentality is we qualify that's us achieving but I'd like us to go much further in sport not just football. What Scottish football has to try and do with our clubs is create exciting and competitive football instead of accepting old firm dominance year in year out the other clubs gotta be more ambitious I know money is big issue up north and has been for years plus tv deals etc we gotta try get the next generation wanting to play for there country and develop quality like players we had in 70s and 80s. The reserve matches brought back colt teams from top tier going down to bottom or second tier maybe that could help our development and maybe SPL having more sides in division instead of 12. What about a cup competition with Scottish and lower teams from england would that be possible. Just think SFA gotta do much more for Scottish football.

  17. The current generation of Scottish footballers have achieved relative success in spite of negative old Bstards like Graeme.
