Insider Robert Murray On Mariners’ Constant Tank, Twins Looking to Move Vazquez, Cardinals Signings!

MLB Insider Robert Murray joins #FTLive to discuss the latest move out of Seattle with Eugenio Suarez going to the Arizona Diamondbacks. Murray hits on the never-ending tanking of the Mariners, who reportedly aren’t pursuing Shohei Ohtani, and how time could be up soon for those in charge. The crew also discusses two new signings out of St. Louis with Lance Lynn and Kyle Gibson becoming Cardinals. Murray says the wildly active starting pitching market sees teams like the Atlanta Braves build on their already strong bullpen while teams like the Minnesota Twins are working to unload their big contracts this offseason. Finally, Murray tells us how he never misses any games with his incredible 5 television setup!

  1. i don't care if the Cardinals sign Shohei, Blake Snell, Jordan Montgomery and Sonny Gray if they don't FIRE MARMOL they're gonna be perennial divisional non factors. Sad to see it too.

  2. Im fed up with Dipoto!!!!! And Hollander!! Stanton is an idiot if he wanted to make money on the team he would improve the product. Geno played elite Defense this year and hits 20 homeruns on a bad year. We already traded for a backup catcher, and already had a really good young relief pitcher that we sent to Boston for a broken down platoon player. At this point just trade Julio Rodriguez hes a special prayer thay doesn't deserve to suffer through one disappointing season after another.

  3. 54%! Keep it up Jerry!
Push the the fan base away.
Trade Ty France for a bag of balls.
Keep it up. Finish the job.

  4. I’ve seen businesses self sabotage their fan bases beyond repair (activision/blizzard, bud light, target etc) and this is going to be another one of those cases. The Mariners will be a figment of our memories.

  5. Tired of Jerry Dipoto 😒 Mariners need a new front office 🏬 need a new voice in the clubhouse with a new manager as well 🙄

  6. Mariners trading Eddie Suarez for nothing shows that the Mariners front office is tanking yet again 🙄 Time to trade away every good piece they have and tear down the stadium 🏟 and turn out the lights on this sad franchise 😢 😞 😕 😔 😪

  7. Mariners have totally lost the fans and i’m sure the clubhouse isn’t too far behind either. Org has been a disgrace with Stanton, most profit in baseball last year, 100M under the luxury tax, salary dumping Flexen, Geno, Gott under the guise of reinvestment into the team but it never comes. The largest non pitching signing in the Dipoto era is a washed AJ Pollock. Cal, George, Logan and Julio are young stars who want to win, and they will be gone because this team isn’t serious about winning.

  8. If our Fricking cheap ownership that upsets me.
I don't care who's running the front office.
As long as we have Stanton running payroll like he has things wont be getting better.
I’m fine with Urias at 3rd as long as we see a couple Quality Bats follow.
Don’t know why everyone thinks the big upgrade has to be at 3rd. Still have openings in the Outfield and DH.
The key is adding two Impact Bats. Plenty of of ways to do it, Stanton just has to finally be willing to spend to become a true Contender.
There should be no reason we should be forced to trade our young pitching.
They can easily add 60M to payroll; the players and fans deserve to see it happen.

  9. I am a pissed Seattle fan , a great third baseman for two 54% metrics players, great ! Now all we need to do is schedule all our games against single A farm teams.

  10. Foul Territory has poor reporting. The M’s have never stated that they were out of the running for Othani. This was based on a sport journalist speculation. Based on the last time that Ohtani was negotiating with the M’s back 2016., Ohtani was not pleased that M’s leaked details of negotiations with the public. Ohtani will not tolerate a team that leaks. The M’s will not jeopardize this negotiation with Ohtani.

  11. Dont compare these fanbases. The cardinals have gotten better. Marginally, yes, but better. The Mariners have gotten considerably worse.

  12. I see a lot of M's fans livid at Dipoto. None of this is Dipoto's fault. This is the same core ownership group that demanded the same thing from Pat Gillick 20 years ago: win 54% of your games, don't consider building for a World Series. We all saw how that turned out, and now that we have a good core of young players again they're repeating their mistakes. Dipoto has made some fantastic trades; this is an ownership problem full stop. The Mariners will NEVER win a title with this ownership group; they couldn't care less.

If the Mariners don't make a serious push for Ohtani (if that's even possible at this point), AND they pursue nothing but bargain basement replacements for the holes in our lineup this offseason, I will no longer be able to continue supporting this team until there is a change of ownership. Twenty-one years they made us wait to return to the playoffs, and this is how they've decided to follow that up. I'm ready to be done with these ass hats.

  13. No one from the Mariners officially said they were out on Ohtani. Daniel Kramer wrote that "Industry sources familiar with the club's thinking" said they were out on Ohtani. That means they looked at how the Mariners have done things in the past and decided that was the case. Ohtani has told teams this offseason that if they release that they are talking with him that he will hold it against the team. Also I think before everyone freaks out we should we wait and see the entire picture of free agency. Dipoto is pretty famous for making moves that don't make sense in a vaccuum but make sense later after all the dust settles. Trading Gravemen then getting Castillo for example.

  14. That's why Corey Seager NEVER wanted to sign with the M's because of what Dipstick did to Kyle. This was revenge for his brother and I'm happy for the Seagers. 54% my a**. Stanton is a lying POS, Proud to say I've never been to Safeco and wont even pay for Root sports. I dont want to line up Stanton's pockets while he betrays his fans.

  15. As a Ms fan since 1985, the same ownership group (except addition of Griffey Jr) since the very beginning, who famously said in 2001, after MLB record setting amount of reg season wins, "We're not trying to win/make the World Series" same ownership frickin ownership just a different group schilling for ownership in the FO.

Up until I started hearing about Julio & how he's going to make opening day roster in 2022, along with quality of young SPs and had a few pretty solid young core guys & others that sounded like finally getting a legit competitive roster, I finally started paying attention again & watching games. I hadn't paid attention or watched a game since end of 2001 season with that infuriating quote by the FO. 20 yrs away, back for past 2, but I'm VERY close to being out for good if this BS with roster building, FO & ownership doesn't make a sharp turn upwards this off-season, so far not at all off to even a decent start. 1 way or another us Ms fans need to FORCE the sale of Ms to new, much wealthier, actually is dying to bring WS here instead of primary objective being just good enough while stopping short of being complete cheap skates with roster, though fairly close, to keep pulling in as much cash as possible.

  16. This team is an absolute dumpster fire and I’m sick of all the bull shit coming out of DiPoto’s mouth every year! Same shit different year!
