Playoff success? They have 4 series wins as a team since 2015. That is not success. Success in the playoffs = winning the cup.

As an oilers fan i see this as an absolute loss
The thing about Edmonton that people never remember is they have this phase every season. They spend a month or two forgetting how to play and then after that, they're suddenly respectable. It's not a good habit, but it's also not new. They're just doing it way earlier in the season than usual and it might cost them a Playoff spot. It's a toxic mental trait that they can't snap out of.

Remember, this team blamed everything on Jack Campbell.
Oilers should rethink their game strategy and put defense first , including their star forwards . Better goaltending wouldn’t hurt either . Same advice applies to my beloved Devils . Our stats are worse than our teams .
Not sure why people can't see this team was paper thin. This is not shocking to me. They are a 2 man team and the others are largely overrated. I don't think they're this bad mind you. They need all cylinders pumping, plus luck, to succeed.

Way too much drama.
It's a systems issue. They're not doing the little things and that's causing dangerous give aways and missed assignments.
They turn the puck over at the blue lines way too much.
They aren't on the defensive side of the puck in pick battles way too often.
They puck watching instead of being away of where their check is way too often.
And when you're in the NHL, every team has the firepower to make you pay for those basic mistakes
Connor needs to find his nut sack and consider leaving; 27 next month and not even a sniff at the cup. He's got a few more prime years left and then it's a flat-lining in performance followed by an eventual downward trajectory due to inevitable aging.

I seriously think if oilers are at the bottom or near the bottom of the standings and in the top 3 draft pick convo I dont think Mcdavid or Draisaitl will be staying like do they wanna be in the convo that Ovi was in for a long time? "Well ovi ever win a cup before he retires?" it will be "Well Mcdavid or Draisaitl ever win a cup before they retire?" it will be insane for these two top players to retire with what they can do and have everything but a Stanley cup to show for it.

The spector situation was funny to me, Im the first to say i dont care about the guy but the fact the biggest fraud in nhl reffing history is calling anybody out for being a fraud is pretty ironic and funny to me lol

True oilers fans knew this was a an issue coming into this season, forget the Stanley cup fave bs if you are true fan you saw the third line C hole, the dmen holes, and the goalie situation. Having defensive structure to win tight games, it was bound to happen. The thing that angers most of us is mnnmgt not seeing it and not doing anything about it. It’s an actual joke that Holland still has a job, and it now it seems like its a collective group of people making these moves as well.
They have had 5 coaches in the McDavid era, they have had friendly players coaches and hard assed defensive coaches. The only thing consistent? The stars DO NOT COMMIT TO D. They can fire and hire whoever they want. But at some point the players need to be accountable. Connor could be happier if he backchecked and help stop goals against once in a while. McDrai get WAY to much leash from fans and media because they can't look past their boners.
I don't trust Jeff Jackson doing a rebuild.
The GM and above have to take a hard look in the mirror and wonder about moves it has made recently and before.specifically to the choice of goalies and defence men
As an Oilers fan, i wouldn't be surprised if either of them asked for a trade. Management has shit the bed on getting what the team needs. Better defense and a true starter. They tries with Campbell and we all saw how that played out.
McDavid had 153 points last year, at just a point per game after playing 16 of 18 games so far this year he is on pace for an 80 point season which is a 73 point fall off from last season … it appears Connor really wants Huberdeau's record
