I feel like now your paying for the name because if Eichel got picked like 16th and had the same totals he wouldn’t have got 10 mill a year while scheifle is a better player playing for 3.9 mill less
This is a good signing, he is only 20, logged all 82 games last year and played alot of PP, 26 goals and 37 assists. Thumbs up from me

this seems like a bad contract that's 6 million a year. Either they have a lot of faith for the kid or they hope he can play really well. And on top of this they gotta sign Laine still.

I don't get how players like Eichel and Mcdavid get contracts that rival Toews and Patrick Kane when they haven't even won a cup. Kane and Toews got those contracts like a reward for their hard work.. but these youngsters now get money thrown at them and they haven't really proven that they are worth it.

I wonder what its going to look like when they have to sign Laine. If Eichel is getting 10, Matthews prob gets around 10, Laine will likely get around 10 as well. That superstar money. Good signing nonetheless. I like Ehlers, was hoping the Leafs picked him instead of Nylander in the draft, but cant complain right now.
If the jets are buyers at the deadline they should trade maybe Comrie a pick and a solid prospect for Fleury and they can make a playoff run.

The reason it's a cool thing is because we now have Ehlers and Scheifele under contract for less than McDavid himself.
Ya but when u look at Edmonton and what Drasiaitl and Mcdavid did last year they totally deserve the money ya it was one year but so has Ehlers and we dont know what hes going to do it might be a good signing but we dont know if hes going to bust or not

That’s a steal of a contract. Would not be surprised if the jets go far this year. Team is well built and that Ehlers-Scheifele-Laine could easily be the most dangerous this year

Honestly thought that Ehlers was going to get more. So this feels like a steal for the Jets. If players stay healthy this year then I feel like the Jets are a lock for a playoff spot.

Its good Enström and Myers contracts open over 10M to cap space before they have to sign Laine. I really hope they can keep their core and evolve to next powerhouse. Like Blackhawks and Penguings have been.
