It's easy for an armchair player like me to say, but you have to be prepared on the ice to avoid getting injured. I'm surprised Seattle didn't play more physical after this, but I guess they were cautious by not wanting to take any penalties.
I watched it on 0.25 speed. You see tanev's left skate planted with both feet on open edges (toes pointing opposite directions). The hit drives weight thru the left leg and you see his foot get caught under him. Hoping it's just a high ankle sprain and not a serious knee injury.

lol, the announcers calling it a high hit. Hoglander is 5'9, and hit him low in the chest. Where did Seattle find these announcers, they're horrible.

That was a damn clean hit from a young player whose figure is like a box. Unfortunate Tanev left the game but that was clean.
