We lost to the Sabres…without Thompson ~~or Levi~~?

  2. Dear Panarin,

You’re accumulating too much hair, please shave your head ASAP.

    Thank you,
    A concerned fan.

  3. Due for the eventual stinker, burn the tape and get back on track…

  4. Dig-Duglett

welp hope this bodes well for a bounce back game on my first game of the season wednesday

  5. Grouchy-Power-806

Also, we had 6 games in 9 days. Including games with travel.

    I’m not worried.

  6. DismalChance

How do we make a Sam REEEWIIINNNHHHHHAAARRRRRTTTTTT trade happen?

    I can dream right?

  7. SilentSaidd

Just seemed mentally checked out of this game. It happens, that’s why we have guys like Wheeler and Quick around to settle the locker room. I know we’ll play better against Detroit but they are starting to pick up some heat so that game is not a gurantee gonna need to be ouur best.

  8. manhattansinks

had to happen eventually. wednesday is a new day.

  9. SilentSaidd

Something the boys need to realize now is that everygame against us is a measuring stick for other teams and they will play their best hockey against us. Similar to Boston from last year everyone wanted to be the team that beat them. Doeesn’t matter if it’s San Jose or the Golden Knights we’re going to be playing against any teams best hockey. We need to measure up going forward.

  10. BloodySanguine

Does anyone have a gif of the ref hitting Lafreniere in the head in the process of waving off Laf’s shot that hit the outside of the net? That’s a metaphor for the Rangers and the refs this year.

  11. Hoping they got that all outta the way so I am enjoy my first game of the season in person Wednesday

  12. RockinRich631

Old saying, but still true. You can’t win ’em all. Let’s start our next win streak Wednesday.

  13. Key-Tip-7521

Pidto, Vally, Hank, and John all doing the Sam Reinhart scream makes the night better.

  14. ItsHeadbangerG

Ugly game. Hate seeing Shesty hung out to dry, and Kakko getting hurt is not the kinda stuff you wanna see happen on the ice. Bad times all around.

BUT GUESS WHAT? WE STILL REIGN SUPREME!

If anyone feels the need to panic, again, this the 4th regulation loss; I think we’ll be okay. At this point the boys need some good rest and to get refreshed for Wednesday.

    See ya then.

  15. Wesley__Willis

A 5-1 final doesn’t really capture how close this game was to tied with just a few minutes left in the third. Not their best performance of the year but still showed a spark that made it interesting on a night when little went right.

I’m just thankful Fox is back on Wednesday.

  16. serialragequitter

at least the MSG studio crew know how to work together as a team

  17. Dont_know_where_i_am

If anyone saw my post on the game thread than you know this one is on me. Sorry for that guys.

  18. MeThewThanks

Eh, just wasn’t our night. We will have some of these games this year, but confident in this group to bounce back. On to the next one!

  19. darkgrayallalone

Watching the Rangers is a lot more fun when they win 😔

  20. So we actually lost 2-3 minus the ref fucking and the empty nets. We were easily the better team, just got goalied most of the night and had some bad turnovers. It happens.

Prayers for kakko, that’s the only thing that matters from tonight.

  21. Fancy_Combination436

I mean we absolutely sucked that whole first period, but after that had streaks of showing how insanely good we are, soooo lets call it even. Im telling myself we need a little jolt so we dont get too self indulgent (penisy) so lets go with that as a positive.

    Hope Kakko’s ok, looked rough.

  22. SilentSaidd

I don’t like what the script writers have in store for us. There is a chance Kane is going to be playing hockey Wednesday evening at MSG. Just not for the Rangers

  23. The two games I’ve gone to this season have been our two MSG losses. I’m staying away for a while

  24. TheIncredibleHork

    The Hork’s View from 222

    * Guys, I’ll admit, I got penisy when I saw Buffalo #9 swing and miss. I thought it would be a good game.
    * Wheels got robbed and we let the ref have it. Totally not a hand pass and I think that bad call hamstrung us for the remainder of the game.
    * Robo Cam… Sadly as lifeless as this period?
    * Hockey Fights Cancer Night: congrats to Rocco Pisani, 14 years old and free of cancer.
    * Ukko-Pekka Lukkonen: Fuck, this guy turned into the reincarnation of Dominik Hasek. Why does this keep happening to us???
    * Quote of the night from the Sabres fan sitting near me, after one of UPL’s saves: That’s what we do in Buffalo, hockey and crack.
    * First Intermission, Split the pipes, split the prize. It’s damn tough to hit the net from the other side of the ice, much less the mini-net inside. But whether you hit the NHL net or not you still get $1000? 🤔
    * Rangers Alumni Brian Boyle, Michael del Zotto, and Colton Orr in the house. Happy to see Boyle still doing well after his own bout with cancer.
    * We just can’t get passes to work. We look sloppy, almost like we’re hungover. Kind of reminded me of the post-Halloween party game.
    * Goddamn, I’ve never seen the team field 6 skaters and just play defense like it’s a normal thing and all of us in the stands were like, “What the bloody hell???” It’s like we realized it before anyone else did. Very stupid penalty.
    * Wheeler… Goddamn man… I hate to say it but he’s definitely not doing well out there. Slow, turnovers, just bad man.
    * Fuck… Poor Kakko… That fall into the boards looked really bad and we all knew it was really bad when he didn’t get up. Whole Garden went silent.
    * Lots of HFC signs. For my wife/Jane/Mom. For Papa. For Gino. Some even in memoriam. I’ll throw in that I fight for Mama Hork who told lymphoma to go fuck itself in 2019, the first of her family to actually beat a cancer diagnosis flat out. And she’s still going strong to this day.
    * And speaking of, another gent who beat cancer, congrats Tom Kerenaky who got a clean bill of health AND a jersey from Adam Graves!
    * Awful second period that saw us in a 2-0 hole. We just can’t get shots to go in. Like the poor fellah trying to win a car during the second Intermission. No car was given away.
    * Third period… Why is Willie Wonka here? He’s got his golden ticket but that’s not really working for us here. Definitely one of the oddest things I’ve seen at the Garden.
    * We got SO boned on that interference call. It was blatantly not interference, just a followed through hit. We REALLY let the refs have it.
    * So naturally, we get a blatant make up call. It was probably the most ticky-tacky cross check call I’ve ever seen but it was the refs mia culpa.
    * Karaoke Cam: Don’t Stop Believin’. We got into it but they stopped right before the chorus. But that’s ok. Why?
    * BECAUSE MIKA DON’T STOP BELIEVING. Very nice to see Mika starting to get back on track.
    * Oh my God Jimmy got robbed from being Himmy again by UPL. He was just stopping everything tonight.
    * And then it *was* time to stop believing again. Another goal let up, and by this time it was a forgone conclusion.
    * Even before the empty netter it was a done deal. Playing pass the potato 6 on 5 was infuriating, and the empty net was just insult to injury.
    * Then one last goal with a few seconds left… That was pissing on our grave.
    * And Igor was PISSED on the way out. Smacked his stick on the glass on his way out and everything. He’s gotta be feeling the agita that Quick is outplaying him.

All things considered though… Yeah this was a shit game. But we were bound to have them now and then. Sloppy passes, rough transitions, losing Kakko like we did, and getting goalie’d. I’m honestly not that upset overall and the game. Just feel bad for Kakko. He looked like he could be done for the season (just my overreaction). We can probably overcome especially with some LTIR money, but it just feels bad man. Hopefully we can get a good 1RW and move Wheels down.

Will this take us down from THGs #1 spot? Depends on how we do Wednesday and Saturday I guess.

But the march to 77-4-1 goes on.

  25. It wasn’t a bad game. We came off a really hard win in Boston, faced a good goaltender, and a hungry team that knows they should be doing better than they are.

A Vesey goal could have had this game being 2-1 way earlier. Game looked like more of a 3-1 loss, with one empty net and the boys phoning it in the last 90 seconds knowing they lost (not acceptable, but it’ll happen).

Hopefully they’ll come back Wednesday with a fresh effort.

  26. Can’t believe we’ve got a break from Saturday to Wednesday. You’d think we’d have a game on Monday or something

  27. jthomas694

It was closer than the score but we played some sloppy hockey. Games like that happen. We’ll be aiight

  28. Key-Tip-7521

Lav said during the postgame, that their really isn’t a bottom feeder team. I don’t really don’t consider the Sabres really a “bottom feeder team.” They could be a playoff team, but their really a middle of the pack team. Same as what Vally said about the Preds(really good goalie who carry them into the playoffs). But no, the point is tonight’s game the Rangers ran out of time as what Hank said. And also, wayyyyyy too many turnovers for my or anyone’s liking. Key turned the puck over alot, as well as basically everyone. The Rangers beat themselves and for the Sabres, UPL made unbelievable saves.

Disappointed they couldnt get it done. Can’t win em. Is it cool being top of the league? yeah it is. But do we the fans, WANT THEM TO BE TOP OF THE LEAGUE AND GET THE PRESIDENT’S TROPHY? Absolutely not. But Vally also said this, the Rangers can beat/play with the cup contending teams (Bruins, maybe Stars in the rematch, etc)

Having said that, I’m still pleased w/how have this team played to start the season. Hope Kakko is okay. Will the Rangers play better? I believe so. Disappointed. Look at the tape and see what they did wrong or burn the tapes.

    Onto the Red Wings.

  29. big_als_nugz

Saw a comment that someone felt confident today. Fuck you in particular.

  30. KingJames_684

If kakko is done, I hope they look at duclaire as an option we need more speed in this geriatric lineup

  31. Outtie_5000

I wore my brand new Fox jersey to the Preds loss early in the season. Do I wear it to the garden Wednesday?

  32. xXDireLegendXx

One thing I just thought about that I haven’t seen said:

I think we can all agree we’d rather lose this game 5-1 than the one against Boston. Showed we were a real deal in the latter, tonight we just came out flat tonight and still hung close to the end. I’m still confident in our group

  33. Ketachloride

I knew something was wrong from the first passes and zib wiping out. Chemistry was totally off. It’s fixable.

  34. Ketachloride

I think we need to get used to being as good as were were the previous two games. Everyone seemed in their heads and nervy. or hungover. It happens

  35. Shoutout to Laffy for trying to bring some life into the team tonight.

  36. EnvironmentalLet5985

Boys I missed the game what happened to Kakko?
