  1. Hell yeah. Hopefully a one year deal with little to no risk. Feels good to have a big name FA have confidence in us for the first time in nearly a decade

  2. He joins the list of fellow Wings legends like Alfie, Wendell Clark, CuJo and Modano

But seriously the hip is a major question, his playmaking and hockey IQ won’t go away, and we’ve seen with Perron that even slower skaters with high IQ can be impact players

Stick him with cat and let’s torment Chicago

Does this move Alex back onto the top line? I haven’t loved that we’ve put him on other lines lol but I could just be biased.

  4. I have decided to be excited about this, then we see how it all plays out!

I trust Yzerman and am confident he wouldn’t bring Kane in on a deal that would fuck us down the line if this experiment doesn’t work out. Let’s just try to enjoy it and see how it goes.

“Larkin centering Debrincat and Kane” is a sentence I don’t think the universe ever expected to encounter outside of video games…

Detroit Red Wings legend Patrick Kane! Eat shit Chicago!

  8. Love it! An experienced playmaker with insane hockey IQ will get the most of our less experienced players, making our team overall much stronger.

I have to wonder how much this will pay off. No one has come back from this type of surgery before right?

Best case : lots of assists to add
Worst case: 1 year of cap space

I’ve had a Sochi team USA Kane jersey for nearly a decade, *my body is ready*

Twitter sure is interesting this morning. Lol. I’m neutral I think. I don’t really know what to think re: personal life/drama but I do think he’s a great player if he’s still got it after his surgery. And I love that he and Cat are reunited.

There’s little to no downside to signing him. Price will be fair and contract short. Gotta try some weird things sometimes.

Regardless of how you may specifically feel, this is a good sign that a big name player would choose to come to the Wings. Shows we are the right track

Lets fucking GO. I hated Kane with everything in me back in the day but times change and I’m extremely excited to see what he still has in the tank.

Even more excited how disgusting this will be to Hawks fans. Even MORE excited that players want to come here again.

He’s arguably the greatest American born player of all time. If you’re that upset over a 1 year deal, you should probably reevaluate.

This is so weird. When do you think we’ll see him on the ice?

  17. tacticalAlmonds

Sorta bummed because the boys are buzzing right now. Hopefully they don’t touch the first line. Larkin, Ray, and perron have been playing really good. Adding Kane to the 2nd line would make sense

Hearing debrincat and Kane are on the RED WINGS will never not sound weird to me

  19. fullspeed8989

I would have never thunk it back when he was a rookie.

I remember marveling over him and was jealous Chicago got him. That’s when I honestly started feeling the Chicago threat.

Now here we are and the fucker is going to be a Wing. Amazing!

  20. Strypes4686

So…… what number is he taking or what number will Sprong switch to?

  21. artvandelay1980

Maybe he’s joined just so Franzen can give him his mouthguard back

  22. TitleistGuy1

    Ughhhhhhhhhhh why?

We’re not just one 35 year old post surgery post scumbag away from a cup … hope he’s half decent and Stevie flips him for picks.
