    Nice deal. Their D has looked pretty shaky since Soucy went down, Ethan Bear will be a nice upgrade. Probably some urgency to get this done before the team loses any momentum. Beauvillier was pretty underwhelming I’ll take the 5th and run here.

    Was hopeful after he showed some production last season, but he just didn’t end up being a good fit in the current line-up we have.

    He has certainly been an offensive black hole this year, but also keeping in mind that for majority of the season, he was effectively playing with 3rd/4th liners and with the corresponding ice time. No sense paying $4m for that – we will really need the cap space.

    Best of luck. I think he will still do fairly well given the right role and linemates.

    One reason this is such a good deal is it allows us to implement our off season plan even earlier. As in, we were never going to resign Beauvillier, and we were looking forward to doing something with his cap space. Now we can accelerate any plans we had with that space. Not exactly, but you know what im saying.

    Another reason this is good is the logjam at forward was affecting our ability to get our young guys into the lineup like Hogs

    Love this trade. We took on Beauvillier so the Islanders could clear cap to sign Horvat.

    Let’s not jump on bringing in Bear. I’m not sure he’s an improvement on the current roster. Hopefully they’re exploring the possibilities with Calgary.
