Hockey fans (besides hawks) want this outrageous rumor to be true because they are jealous. They in turn hope they are true so that Bedard leaves the hawks and joins another team.

Yeah unfortunately there a lot of stupid meatheads out there that are gonna ride with this rumor. I even have friend that are hawks fans that are laughing and having a good time over the rumor. It’s the ’99 woodstock, American Pie mentality. This could force Bedard to want to move on from Chicago. Kind of a pessimistic take but professional athletes are real people and culture is important

Yeah, I unfollowed a lot of hockey/sports accounts across all the platforms I use this week. It felt like a lot of them were only posting updates (that actually weren’t updates at all, because we weren’t learning anything new) to capitalize on an active comment section full of gross rumors and really bad humor.
The NHL is not Hollywood. And social media is no better than a tabloid magazine these days.
