The team is too good, it is EXPECTED for the Avs to be in contention.
Clearly, it wouldn’t happen without Bednar, but him being good, pushes him away from the award.

If he wasn’t in the convo last year for winning the division with a team that was basically a skating hospital he never will. The team has too many star players for award voters to give him the credit he deserves
