I think that was an accident, but I won't be surprised if the NHL suspends Simmonds. But if Wayne does get suspended, I don't think he'd deserve it. From a Ranger fan who was so pissed that he was not disciplined for the McDonagh punch. (yes I know mcdonagh checked him first)
Seriously guys. Wayne's arm is down the entire time. He's even gliding. Brown turns hard and tries to go up ice and runs right into Simmons. This is what happens when you try to go through a wall.
Unbiased opinion, seemed like JT brown just ran into him. Simmonds didn't appear to go out of his way to deliver a forceful hit to the head. I don't think there's going to be a suspension for this
when you play hockey like these guys have played hockey there are things that look accidental however on both angles both players were playing to the reaction of the puck but I do believe that Simmons knew what was going to happen if he got that close… thats why i love hockey
It was unintentional except for the fact that it's Sinmonds, it makes it feel sly and very intentional. If it were like a Hossa type of player I could see it being an accident.
He was turning and his shoulder just happened to be at Browns head level and they collided… Totally unintentional, no suspension or further punishment needed on that play.

obviously taking away fighting and checking isn't working. We need to ban skating in hockey! I'm looking after the health and safety of our players
Completely accidental. This doesn't show the other angle; Simmonds was just holding the line, and Brown skated right into him. Neither saw each other

Looks accidental. He just kind of collided with him. If he was trying to hurt brown it wouldn't have looked like the two just bumped into each other
