Makar has more points than Hughes in 2 less games. This is the best period of games in Hughes career, he has no individual or team trophies and people want to say he is better; Quinn hughes is the biggest fraud so far, not because hes bad, hes definitely good but compared with Makar hes the norris fraud. The Makar whos getting mainly primary assist like setting up tip goals compared to quinn hughes that played the oilers and sharks 5 games already whos teams shooting percent will definitely fall.

Strongly disagree with Corwin about the West being better now.
The West has some of the top teams in the league (Colorado, Dallas, Vegas, LA) but also a lot of weak teams (San Jose, Anaheim, Chicago). It’s very much a feast or famine conference.
The East is a lot more closely packed together. You have top teams like NYR, Boston and Florida, but the gap is much smaller to the middle and bottom teams.
Like Montreal (14th in the east) to Florida (3rd in the east) is only 8 points, while the same gap from 14th-3rd in the west (Anaheim-Vancouver) is 13 points.
Hell, even Ottawa (last in the East) only has played 17 games for some reason and have as many as 7 games in hand on teams above them.

How can the Leafs be frauds when their goalie right now is a rookie and the old starter now backup is a toss away from Washington? The only reason they'd be on the list for contenders is to generate betting. Two Players I hope never win the Cup is Benn and Bennett. Yeah, I'll toss in the Tkachuk's too.

How do you guys not call the oilers frauds?? that team is the definition of fraud. They have 2 players, that's it. They're not good and are getting exposed badly. Also the NJ take was rough, they have had some key injuries that have missed nearly a month of the season. Vegas also isn't a fraud, that team is still unreal when they wanna be. id take Vegas out of the west again this year.
the Canucks definitely come down a bit from that early high but they are 100% the 3rd best team in the pacific behind LA and Vegas. usually agree with all your takes but this one was off a bit.

As a Canucks fan, never believed that they were Stanley Cup contenders. Just want to make it to the playoffs, at least!! Anything beyond that is a treat.
I will say the devils have had some injury problems early on. It's not easy to win with your top 2 centers injured. Hischier, Jack, meier, and now dougie.
Dawson Mercer does have 9 points in his last 11 games btw.
Corwin is so wrong about the west being the best. The metro is the best division in hockey rn all but one team has above a point per game pace. Only 8 teams in the west have above a point per game pace. The west is a cake walk rn and it has been for a few years

Luca is so high on the Kings. I think the Kings could be frauds. Cam Talbot has been playing Vezina quality at 36 years old, I just don't think it's substainable. I think he's going to have a big regression, Kings are still going to be a playoffs team but not a contender.
Devils had a ton of injuries. They lost Nico Hischier, Timo Meier, Jack Hughes for a good chunk of the year. They have won 3 in a row since Nico is back. Akira Schmid is looking great, Vanacek will find his footing. Mercer has been great since being paired with Jack. Jesse's arguments are weak.
Jets are 12-8-2 with 26 points and they're humming and so good
Devils are 11-9-1 with 23 points (in 1 fewer game played) and they're frauds and bad. Amazing logic Jesse lol
The Panthers are for real….we had three major injuries , Bennett and our top two defensemen, everyone is back, we are healthy, Bobrovsky is playing quality goaltending and Stolarz in replacement has been stellar. And we just finished the Canadian trip and got 5 out of 6 points between the Sens, Leafs and Habs.
We have depth and also we got grittier and tougher and even bigger….i can’t see Leafs matching well against us in the playoffs, and we can say a lot about the Caps, Devils and Wings. In the Eastern I thinks the only true contenders are the Panthers and Rangers and that’s going to boil down to goaltending in the playoffs. Good luck leaf fans and I think they need to rethink their approach, nothing you guys don’t already know, things are not working with the core 4 as needed. One pleasant surprise is Woll and you guys possibly having a legit number one goaltender for the next decade of he keeps playing the way he has. Leafs lose that game this week to us if it’s not for him.

So… If the Canucks want to keep him (and why not), they have about 6 months to figure that out.

As a Flames fan, sure we didn't get off to a great start to the season at all. But they are playing way better. To say the Flames are the team you'd least like to cheer for and are in such a bad place is absolutely wrong. Edmonton- 2 best players in the world (as some might say), bottom 5 team. Toronto- literally only has cap space because half of their roster is on the IR. Those 2 teams are in way worse shape and i'd hate to be a fan.

To be honest I think the Leafs being a WC team might be the best thing for them. Get away from the Tampa Boston Florida ghost and play a metro team. Granted i agree with you guys saying they've underperformed this year (only five regulation wins same as San Jose? COME ON) I think it would be interesting to see what happens if the Leafs are in the opposite bracket and not playing their rivals till the CFs. IMO because its the effing Leafs lose in round 1 game 7 OT to the rangers after coughing up a 3-1 lead both in the series and in the game
i think basstool has defined frauds perfectly. A team that looks good on paper with stats, but has no chance of actually winning the trophy. They only got theire place in the standings out of having some luck reversion to mean will happen they aren't as good as their record or stats appear. Or they just don't have the caliber of player to make good plays in big games
Lost all respect for Jesse when he defended what the IDF are doing in Gaza. Can't respect people like that who think it's okay to bomb little kids. I'm not even pro-Hamas, those guys messed up on October, 7th, but to give Israel carte blanche to respond how they did by killing thousands of civilians (they are heavily funded by the west, have the most precise weaponry, yet still have kill ratio of 100 civilians to 1 Hamas fighter. They have precise intelligence, AI, etc of the people they're striking. So when they order a drone strike on a baby, they know exactly who that baby is) is irresponsible and shows how little value Palestinian life is to Jewish life. Before someone calls me "anti-semitic", this has zero to do with Judaism and Jewish people. It's actually disrespectful to both of those groups to claim Jewish people and Judaism are okay with the murder of kids.
