Here's the thing that's very frustrating. All the other teams that know they have a goaltending problem are doing something about it. I see tons of videos about Edmonton looking for a goalie. We know we have a problem yet. No one seems to be addressing it.
A goalie isnāt even gonna help if the team plays every other game with this āeffortā. I do feel bad for comrie though. The team is extra absent for his last few starts. I canāt remember the last time they played as well as they usually do for UPL for comrie. He has had absolutely no help. I hope we donāt see levi for the rest of the year. This team and their awful defense and coaching will absolutely destroy that kid. This goes far beyond the goaltending at this point. UPL would have gotten just as lit up as he did in his last start (where the sabres actually played well too). The goalie does not matter in games like this. Absolutely embarrassing effort defensively and offensively once again.

Imagine watching your goaltender get cross checked in the neck and doing absolutely nothing about it. Now imagine watching him get cross checked in the neck in A BLOW OUT GAME and doing absolutely nothing about it! If ever there was a time to have a ācome togetherā moment as a team through a good old fashion team dust up and light a much needed fire in the team for the rest of the year, that was it. But nope. Letās just watch guys go after dahlin or cozens or krebs and now even your goalie and just hope for a PP. This team has no soul. You can see on the players faces that they donāt want to be here. At least when we had scott, ott, and kaleta and we were losing a lot, the guys were having fun out there and you could feel their camaraderie and they had each otherās backs. It still wasnt a fun place to play in. Now, everyone is licking their chops to play us. Easy win and you donāt have to worry about any physicality either.

I hate to say it but I might have to become a flyers fan. They are a young team that bring it ever night. We have guys like Brandon Biro, lolš. Carolina looked like they were playing with an extra man all night. They are big fast and like Wayne said they exposed us.

Coach needs to be fired tomorrow morning, Dahlin gets punched in the face an NO ONE does anything about it. Our team is weak, we have no identity and we get bullied every game. No one sticking upo for our best player is the last draw for me… I feel like Ryan O'Reilly, Buffalo is making me lose my love for hockey.
Meatballs got to and if Adams canāt or wonāt make a trade he needs to go. I know we are young but I might be done watching this team this year. Shouldāve kept Peca around. At least it was fun last year for first time in years. But this is the NHL they were going to catch on. Need change now

A change is needed! Either coach and/or to find a solid goalie! Maybe both. Yes we are the youngest team so do something and get players that can respond to challenges and inspire. We got a lot of prospects (more on the way in the next draft) get the pieces we need to fix this! I'm not saying blow up the team but we got the tools to get something done. I like Granato but perhaps he is best as an assistant. Times like this I really want Tortorella. I remember when he was in Rochester and won the Calder Cup. Then he goes to Tampa and wins The Stanley Cup. A change is needed, they assessed the goalie situation wrongly. fess up and fix it!!!! Freakin watched NHL Networks "On the Fly" to see the Highlights ! They omitted showing the Sabre's goals! I know we got smoked but could at least show the few good goals we did get !!! I want to blame the goaltending.. I really do.. but the numbers overall tell a storyā¦ this team didnāt even score until the 3rd. I agree with the hitting.. nothing pisses me off more than a team taking offense to a clean hit.. cheap shot.. fine.. This team needs to stop the NICE play.. I remember a quote I read from a HOFāer from even before I was born(though he played through the 70ās thanks to the WHA)ā¦ early in the game, he was shooting at the goalies headā¦ I know today itās not as effective (in his early days, goalies didnāt wear masks) but it still puts a bit of a scare into you when you see the puck coming right between the eyesā¦ shoot high early.. not only for the netminder, scare the defenders too.. make them AFRAID to block.. a few minutes in you can start aiming at the net and you will get less blocking.. thatās what I mean about not being NICEā¦ You donāt have to remove their teeth to scare the living bleep out of themā¦ but you do need to put it in the back of their mind.hey, even the goalie needs it.. a good shot from the point is over 100 MPHā¦ even with a mask that can concussā¦ so putting it up there will scare.. I agree, you donāt want to hurt them.. but make them afraid that it MIGHT and things change.. stillā¦ this team is soft.. I think they made a few mistakes in the off season.. Levi is not as ready as we hopedā¦ a few guys should have been allowed to walk but they were brought back.. I think right now, the youth would have been better served playing up right now. this felt like we were right back in the 2020 season.
i want answers from this team. They look like they have the talent but they keep coming up short and the special teams are abysmal now. cant even point out the PK as a bright spot anymore. Carolina looked bored on the ice we were making it so easy for them.
People who expected anything from this season, while this team still ices grandpa Okposo, worn out Girgensons, and other dead weight who are slow or don't know to even slapshot properly, all the while still not addressing goaltending are clueless. These losers need competent veteran NHL coach who won't coddle his players for no shows, or is scared to even dish out any sort of harsh criticism and consequences for bad play. Did that coach Granato ever grow balls to berate them or referees when they rob them with eyes wide open?!? Come on, this is a joke, get serious, get a proper new HC and new assistants, who will cuss and whip them when needed, not this kindergarten feel good crap.
No goalie in the history of the game would help this p*ss poor bunch. They don't defend well and there's no toughness in there, no willingness to take responsibility. Blaming any goalie is missing the real issue which neither Adams or Granato has addressed at all.
Check the NHL goalie stats across the board. Lot of 1980's .890 save percentages right now including better goalies than Buffalo has. š”
Donny is maybe a good development coach, but he is not a good game coach. There is no red line how the sabers are supposed to play, no identity.You need a base play and flow from there. Can anyone tell me sabers system, more than try talent?

The aspect of this team that sticks out to me, and this goes back to late in the preseason, is that they arenāt prepared to play. Itās more than toughness, more than goaltending, more than the bad defense. Just flat out not prepared, not organized, not playing as a team. I hate this team this season.
By no means am I an expert, but even to my trained eye, I could see how much trouble the Sabres had clearing the puck from their defensive zone and establishing a steady presence (or any at all) in the offensive zone. Also, the team plays soft as Charmin, thereās no hint of nastiness and roughness to the guys.
Soft head coach. Granato needs to go. Okposo needs to be a healthy scratch.
I honestly believe Adams is ok where we're at, that this year is all about Levi and his development. Sucks for us fans!

Does granato finish the year? That's my biggest question. I like the guy but man he's been awful this year. We are on the verge of this season being lost. I must admit I'm very disappointed. I had much higher expectations, but at least we are looking at ANOTHER top 10 pick…. Wooo
Adams is sitting on a stockpile of talent. A more experienced GM would 've done something by now. 1/4 of the way into it and slowly but surely, fading away.
All the "core" players got their bag. Let the uninspired play begin.
